Has B-Hop ever faced anyone like Joe Cal before?

It'll be a first for both of them. They're both unique fighters in their own way.

It's better it's today. They both have more legacy and Joe was pretty much no one back then. His biggest wins were Eubank and Brewer. If Bernard had beat Joe, it would have meant not nearly as much as it would today. I'm glad it's happening this year insted of 2002. on the otherside if an unknown Joe beat that Nard it would have fucked up Nard's entire career and cost him millions of dollars. That really isn't a ducking. I can't believe he almost signed for it. He must of watched a tape, and immediately said 'double it' and when Frank refused Hops was probably pleased.

I'm not saying Calzaghe's resume is bad, but I think he was to fight Hopkins at the time, he would have been recognized by all the big Americans LHWs at the time and been offered some big fights. Calzaghe would have beat him then....Like he's gonna beat him now. I'm Hopkins fan tho and have been for a long time....But Calzaghe is the type of fighter that can foil Hopkins. Calzaghe foils everyone. It's what he does.

nobody has fought anyone like Calzaghe. He completely foils anyones style he comes against. In fact Calzaghe is a spoiler, he stops you doing what you do well, and makes you look shit. It's the fact that he throws so many punches that makes him exciting. Around half of what he throws is just a nuisance factor stopping his opponant getting anything off and ensuring he can't set his feet. JC vs B-hops two fighters who rely on counterpunching spoil the others work.......................GREAT!

I know Joe Cal hasnt fought a fighter as dirty as B-Hop but he has been in some battles thats required him to take it to another level. Has Hop ever faced someone as relentless and as frenetic as Joe Cal? Simple answer.....No and not even close.

Roy Jones is a lot more athletic and faster then Kessler. That's why I could see Joe beating Bernard (even though I think Bernard will win). Though Kessler really isn't.

I think B-Hops can land a few good straight rights maybe, just maybe putting Joe on his arse. I mean Bika landed a few, just don't see it being enough to win the thing for Nard. Joe is going to be the one making the fight and traditionally isn't that what American judges go for? They are seeming to favour the aggressor, especially in close rounds. They are prepared to let the agressor eat some on the way in but score for the other guy if he gets through with enough of his own work.

no he has not. bhop will make it a decent fight because he is so great, but joe will win 8 rds to 4! joe is much more than workrate, and speed! he uses great angles, has good defense, and is a very good counterpuncher. i think it will be close the first 1/2, but than joe takes over, and bhop is not nearly busy enough to keep up!

I don't think Joe is all work rate. He is essentially a counter puncher too. Which is why this fight will be a borefest. With Calzaghe winning because he'll jab an old B-hop consistantly and definetively enough to control the fight. I can see it being borefest, but I'm praying it isn't, although I think most of us know it will definitely go the full 12. Thing I like about BHOP is he can counter on any punch. I remember seeing ODLH throw a ton of jabs until BHOP started throwing body shots to that side of his body, and with Joe being Southpaw, BHOPs left hook will be in perfect place to bang it up. Although, I guess we can say the same vice verse w/ Calzaghe. I guess we'll see. I still have BHOP winning if he can do what I want him to do. haha. Fight a lil dirty, throw good counters, and connect w/ that straight or overhand hand right.

Bika tried the roughouse shit on and it didn't wash, Bernard is a better fighter than that, but Joe is no pussy in the hold and hit department either yeah, Joe likes to fight.
