This has been going on for years and it is exactly why boxing is in its’ current state; inaccessibility. HBO and boxing promoters alike refuse to allow ESPN or any news outlet to run real highlights. Rather than understanding that Sportscenter and other highlight shows are a huge opportunity to market their product, HBO, Top Rank, DKP and other promoters alike feel that they need to deprive everyone who has not paid a premium price to view the fight. The Pavlik-Taylor rematch was a good fight with a lot of huge shots landing, but yet, the highlights that Sportscenter was allowed to run showed absolutely no punches land. Maybe, just maybe, if Sportscenter and other sporting news highlight shows were guaranteed to receive the most accurate and exciting highlights of a particular fight, even a knockout once in a while, they would actually talk about the fight before it happened. Sportscenter is essentially a big commercial for the sporting events that will take place that day or particular week. This means millions of more people would be enticed to watching the fight or buying a PPV. HBO, Showtime, Top Rank, DKP, Golden Boy, Dibella and all other boxing promoters out there are cutting there nose off to spite their face and it’s killing the sport. UFC is kicking boxing’s ass because it runs highlights on basic cable night after night. Inaccessibility killed boxing, nothing else.

Yeah they try not to show very much. They could show some exchanges. If the fight ends in a KO I could understand not wanting to show it but show exciting moments.
LMAO who the hell makes a face like that when going up for a layup? He looks like he knows he is taking a picture.
Yea it is gay I was like WTF is this they showed like ten seconds. Hell they do that with every sport now. ESPN sucks. Unforunatly it's the only thing we got for sports.
I totally concur. What the hell, do they realize how many people watch sportscenter? If the highlight looks top notch people may want to see these fighters face off if they haven't before.
why wouldnt they want toshow the KO though. thats what everyone wants to see. the ppbv is already over and theyre gunna show it for free next weekend anyway. thatll entice more people to get hbo i think anyway. i dunno, tehy must want it to do bad.
