anybody else here starting to like MMA as well??
I mean I'm not the sort of person who only likes 1 sport, but I love watching a lot of sports, and it's good to widen your horizons..
I m keen to watch the Kimbo and abbott fight after the pavlik taylor fight tomorrow, I think the heavyweights of MMA make this exciting, providing, its not just a ground brawl, but theres punching and kicking involved, and standing up fighting.
any1 else in the same boat as me?

Showtime's MMA show was on and the girl I'm seeing had two unprovoked, unsolicited comments:
1) "They're just hugging each other."
2) "You can't see anything when they're on the ground."
Needless to say, I was impressed with her keen insight..

Well maybe you should start liking it more quickly and get the hell outta here.
I used to really enjoy MMA. I got all the old UFC PPV's and I always watched the UFC or Pride stuff whenever I saw it on tv. I went to a bunch of local events as well. But it seems like they just have the same 5 guys fight each other all the time (in all the org's.) It grew old for me. Kimbo "beating" old guys who havent won a fight in years is supposed to be exciting? I just cant get into it anymore. I have all the respect in the world for anyone who has the sack to step into the ring, cage or whatever else they fight in. But it has worn off on me.

As someone who studied various martial arts I wanted to like MMA but used to not like it at all, I hated the ground game and not letting the opponent up when they are down etc etc. But if you see a highly skilled match up with ground reversals and counters it is actually damn good.
I have been an MMA fan for a few years now and I believe it is a great sport. There is room enough for both so I want to see both sports grow and become larger.
well actually this thread wouldn't make any sense in an MMA forum. thats the whole point of the thread. imagine someone making a thread in Non Stop Boxing called "I'm slowly starting to like Boxing". Well no shit, everyone in non stop boxing likes boxing so.... He just wants to know what boxing fans think of MMA.
That's exactly right.
This is a thread for boxing fans about their perspective on MMA.
I mean I would always like boxing over MMA, but MMA has some appeal to me.
And they should make boxing free to air,not constantly charge people money to make it more accessible to the public.

Starting with UFC 67 and the Elite XC debut show, I've begin to follow MMA as well. It's frustrating when they're on the ground and I can't necessarily tell who has the advantage, and I'm not as into wrestling as I like stand up fighting, but because the fights are briefer and often contain more action, I can definitely enjoy the sport. Watched UFC 81 start-to-finish without losing interest...
mma is okay. Their striking ability is awful compared to boxing, so it feels horrible to watch them do that.
the only part I like is the ground fighting.
also, a lot of the time the fights are one sided in nature...not that they arent compeitive but...lets put it this way.
Fighter A is a good at ground fighting, lousy at striking. Fighter B is good at striking, lousy in ground fighting. While the two are fighting on their feet, it is going to look like a sparring session for fighter B, but then the second Fighter A takes to the ground it looks like he doesnt even have to try.
You never really get to see two excellent boxers box each other, two submission guys try to submit each other, etc. So basically most the time the fighters look overmatched or are just plainly fighting at a much lower level than pure wrestling, boxing, jiu jitsu, etc. That is to be expected...but it kind of takes away the viewing pleasure.
thats why I like boxing much more than mma nowadays.
MMA is hot, Anderson Silva's dancing is homosexual, his beatdowns however are heterosexual, however we'll see how he does against my ***** HOLLYWOOD Henderson. And St. Pierre isn't the pound for pound best, Anderson and Fedor both trump him easily
I slowly don't give a shit, go talk to yourself in front of a mirror and stop making shitty threads about what u like or dont like.
WAHAHAAHAHAHAAH :owned:
you made me laugh you get green for pulling that off
