Your a friggin fool, do you honestly think the casual fan see's it as two exciting white guys fighting. The average fan doesn't give a fuck what colour they are, as long as their styles look like matching for a good fight. Pull your head out of your ass.
during a fight, color will be irrelevant
but in terms of pre-fight build-up, hyping of a fight, two white guys with big fan bases will attract casual and non-boxing fans
your naive if you dont think this is true
Exactly, this clown is getting all emotional about it
Pavlik is a good fighter but the main reason why hes fighting duddy is because the casual fan will see it as two exciting white guys fight, regardless if duddy is the top contender
this idiot just doesnt get it

I think he should fight Winky Wright.
It would be interesting to see if Pavlik can penetrate Winky's "ear muffs defense". Winky deserves the chance at the titles because of his draw with Taylor.
Winky would be my first choice assuming Wright isn't pricing himself out od the fight. I would be curious to see how Pavlik's performance would compare to Jermain's bout with Winky.
the black community doesn't hype anybody - boxing consists of mostly black fighters so if anything a decent white fighter, as a "minority", will get the same if not more attention than a decent black fighter
which nobody is complaining about because if more white fighters become popular then boxing will be more popular as a sport. so stfu
I don't know if boxing consists of mostly black fighters. Does it? One of the things I like about boxing so much is the number of fighters from different countries, ethnicities, and each race. Maybe I need to pay more attention but I never thought of it like you said.
I do admit that people of color do SEEM to shit on white fighters, always discredit them and act like they have more to prove then fighters of color.
But it is often difficult to tell who is playing the race card and who isnt....
I don't worry too much about the whole race issue, but I have wondered about this before. So many black and white people seem to think that black athletes are naturally better. When a white fighter seems to do well there seems to be some resentment or suspicion from many (NOT ALL ) African-Americans.
I don't doubt that there are many (but not all) white folks that want a white champion for this or that.
I wonder if there is a reason that prevents some (NOT ALL) black folks from really becoming a fan of a white athlete?
Duddy is not a bad fighter... i see him being a threat.. he has great heart and determination.. I think he is a level below kelly pavlik.. but its not a bad thing for kelly to take an easier fight after he knocks taylor out again.
First of all, you didn't even answer my questions.
And where did I say Duddy is the #2 contender? Don't try that bullshit, it's old.
If there are only a handful of white fighters available, how the hell does it have to do with race? In that case you don't have a choice.
It's not like they're picking Duddy over some black fighter because Duddy is white. They're picking Duddy because he sells well, he's an attraction.
Mayweather is an attraction, Hopkins is an attraction. You see my point?
If it wasn't for Duddy, then it would most likely be Arthur, another white guy, so nobody is picking white over black, get that kind of shit mentality out of your head.
first of all i did answer your question, or do you think that winky is white?
second the point of my first point was to ask if duddy was a worthy opponent, talent/skill wise or was he being exploited for the fact that 2 popular white guys would sell tickets. i was NOT implying that there was some conspiracy to deny black fighters a chance. your sensitive bitch ass just assumed i was.
You telling me Jeff Lacy wasn't hyped by the black community?
I had black friends tell me he's the next Tyson.
And like I said, Duddy-Pavlik has nothing to do with race.
Please name a black fighter right now in the middle-weight division that Kelly should fight? If you have no answer than I proved my case because Duddy being white would nothing to do with it.
a lot of people hyped jeff lacy, it wasnt just black people
Duddy-Pavlik has nothing to do with race? the promoters will tell you themselves a fight with two popular white fighters will sell.
duddy isn't even a top 5 middleweight right now. id rather see pavlik fight real contenders - wright, abraham etc
for you to think duddy is the #2 contender at MW just shows how little you know
the reason he is fighting duddy is cause it will make a bunch of money. Duddy's also got a #2 ranking on one of the belts. More importantly it will make money, and in my opinion Pavlik deserves a breather. He's done nothing but stepped up in competition fight after fight for as many fights as can be counted now. Rarely does a good fighter take two consecutive dangerous fights. I don't doubt Pavlik's fight after duddy will be solid. Every Irish person on the planet will be paying to see Duddy and Pavlik will draw the rest. Maybe it is a slight exhibition but it is not an undeserved one for Pavlik in my opinion.
Doesn't it work both ways though? So why mention it?
The black community hypes guys like Chad Dawson and Andre Berto, the white community hypes guys you said, Duddy, Andy Lee ect..
So why mention this kind of garbage, I don't like it.
You always have an asshole that no matter what, has to play the race card.

Well believe it or not, race does play a factor. Often when a solid looking/hyped white fighter comes along, white people who aren't really into boxing start following guys like Duddy. I dont like to admit it but its true, i.e., Holmes v. Cooney.
Exactly, this clown is getting all emotional about it

well win or lose against taylor, he's still gonna have his belts.. so with that said, i'd like to see him fight abraham, simply because i'm not the biggest abraham fan and he can get a unification
Abraham then if he gets past both the middleweight division is cleared out and thenhe can move up to SMW with Taylor. If Taylor beats Pavlik in a exciting rematch then we hopefully see a rubber match.
Well he IS fighting Duddy on JUNE 7th in MSG on what is a greeeeeeat card.
PAVLIK-DUDDY
ABRAHAM-LARENZO
CALDERON-CAZARES 2 (Which is a possibility at the moment, but Calderon is definetly supposed to be on the card, with some other Puerto Rican fighters)
Hopefully HBO makes it a triple header for that... but they probably wont
Appears to be a great card... Is that Arthur Abraham and Giovanni Lorenzo?
