Seriously, close scores or not I could not have seen one way Flores could have won it.
He barely threw any punches, most of them JABS, and he was rocked and felt Wilson's power and various points of the fight.
A draw would have worked for me. Neither man fought well enough to cry robbery. They proved conclusively that they aren't in the same class as Haye, Enzo, and Cunningham.
as i watched the fight i kept thinking how brutal it would be for wilson to fight haye or macca... the guy can take a lot of punishment and he just leaves himself wide open... i think wilson could stand up to double the amount of hayemakers anyone else in the division could. itd be fun to watch.
I had it a draw, but could have seen it for Flores.

IMO Wilson looked extremely sloppy. There were a few times I thought Mr. Ding a ling was going to knock his fucking self out. Wide, looping, sloppy punches. Flores made making Wilson miss look easy for the most part. Though you may not respect the style in which he won, to say it was a robbery is nothing short of fucking hilarious.
its a good thing for wilson's family that he didnt win, he misses once like that against a guy like haye or macca he would be sleeping with the fish

This is what is called ineffective aggression. You can rush a dude but if you don't land then all that is negated.
not to mention if your best shots are landed with both feet off the ground they prob arent doing serious damage
Nope, not really into watching Spinks. I'm more of an Arturo Gatti guy :)
It's clear you like what Wilson does, or atleast can do. If Wilson was aggressive and backed his man up consistently while throwing punches, then he could've won those rounds. But he didn't and just followed his guy around waiting for that one punch. While Wilson was waiting, he was catching flush jabs on his face and backing up.
Wilson came back strong and forced Flores into retreat, but Flores made every round close at the end by scoring points that landed cleanly, if not staggeringly.

I don't fucking know who won. I guess Flores edged it because he was up about 5-2 after seven. He won the 11th too.
But he really went inactive in the second half of the fight. Wilspn is so bad though it was hard to credit him with much either.
Wilson doesn't throw combinations, move his head, anything. He pretty much is just a strong, tough guy who can kill you if you get caught. Wilson has had some low points in his career, and we can see why.

A close fight.. Yes.. a robbery???... not in a million years..
scoring is about clean effective punching.. you cant seriously tell me.. Wilson was scoring more cleanly and effectively... That Jab you were complaining about, was snapping Wilsons' head back all night..
As for the rocking... dont know what you watched.. But I cant recall Flores ever being in any kind of trouble.. except for a few rounds where he didnt seem to throw any punches.. I guess that was more like taking a few rounds off..
I take it you are a big Cory Spinks fan then?
He as running away half the rounds, almost all 2nd half of the fight, landing the jab sporadically. I had it 7-5 Wilson but there's NO WAY Flores could have won that fight. You don't win it running away landing three good jabs a round, backpedalling around the minute for two and a half minutes.
Recap: Flores does good boxing and jabbing, feels Wilson's power, runs for rest of round. He easily lost rounds 6-10, and the 12th.

Waaaaaaaaaah? :ugh:
Dude didn't you see Flores was stunned multiple times?
That Wilson was trying to finish him off 2 or 3 times?
Nothing clean? Really? I suggest you watch the fight again
i dont need to, i did the round by round and my sc was in line with those of the PROFESSIONAL judges. saying wilson "stunned" him multiple times is an exaggeration.
good decision, whether or not you liked flores fleetfooted style the fact remains that wilson landed almost nothing clean the whole night. he had no fight plan and the punch track that said he landed 28 percent was laughable
Good analysis. Yeah , I also laughed at the punch stats because they were way off. Flores controlled the whole fight with the exception of maybe 4 rounds at the most. Wilson's plan was to land that big left hook and it never connected. Flores controlled the way the fight was to be fought and Wilson had no answer for it, he had no ability to cut off the ring. You could say that Flores was dancin too much but then again what did Wilson do to0 stop it.

I had it 9-3 for Flores, pretty much won the fight on the jab. No other punch by either man landed consistently.
