You can feel the shit hit the interviewers pants when he realises Bernard has taken his comment badly!!!!!

Right on. That's why Cossell was so good with Ali. He could get under the champ's skin and win a battle of wits, safe in the knowledge he's not getting hit. But those two were both very intelligent, which made it more fun.
This Hopkins bit was cringe-worthy.
it makes for great media hype when a fighter digs into the medias ass and Bernard did just that accept he went about it wrong, 1 thing is to go at it with a reporter for promotion and another is to do it very angrily for the sake of nothing, he had no reason to come at him the way he did, he didn't have to answer his first question so hostile, he looked like he just didn't like the guy and wanted to give him a hard time, you could tell because he would break his silence in between answers to lighten up his tone a bit but still didn't fight the dislike good enough.. the Cossell days were good but I don't think this was similar to that because there was a good friendship with those 2 but this B-Hop shit was just uncalled for and Bernard could have been more of a professional and played that cooler.
I may have misheard but did Hopkins say "You're not on my intelligent level." If so then he must feel pretty stupid right now.
Yep he did say that. What an arse eh? If you're gonna act intelligent, you gotta do it right at least.
lolz funny shit, I woulda just laughed at him. see the thing is Bernard was being hostile with his words once I clicked play, he was being VERY hostile so I would have done 1 of 2 things, I would have either asked him why the hostility when all I'm doing is my job and explain why I feel hostility or I would have laughed at him and treated him as a joke even further, he can't hit me so the most he can do is bitch and moan so it is what it is. his attitude from the jump was like a hostile, 1 word reply or with a strong attitude giving him an obvious answer like he was supposed to already know, he made his time hard so the reporter made his time hard too, Hopkins is a strong dude and all but his head be up his ass a lot like nobody can say shit to him and I don't like that shit, not in the least bit. he was just a smart ass, since the very 1st question and thas why it went that way.

B-Hop aint the brightest kid on the block, but i'll admit he did handle this quite well, imagine an hostile tyson in that situation... The brightest Yanks don't know how to take our dry humour sometimes so what chance as Bernard Hopkins got?
Also the interviewer as a really sarcastic sounding voice and his choice of questions weren't the best I think he should just stick to holding the camera.
What makes it worse is B-Hop actually admires is estimate of his own intelligence... Unlike Uncle roger who'd just stutter & mutha Fucka throughout the interview...
There is a big difference between being academically smart and street smart, Bernard ain't the first be he is the second, he has managed his career brilliantly and he doesn't seem to have been suckered by hangers on like many other famous boxers have.

Poor Cooper indeed, Ali was the best at cutting up people. Henry's paper skin didn't help.
Thanks, I'd never seen that before. I know fighters will often target a cut but I don't think I've ever seen a fighter be that accurate.
Even as a Brit, it gets annoying when they only show the knockdown and not the clinical dismantling of Coopers face - a trained butcher couldn't have done better. Poor old Henry, he would have made a decent Cruiserweight, but those paper eyebrows kept coming back to haunt him.

Sometimes I can't believe what i read on this site..
God help you if that stuttering bolloxs , impressed you with it's intelligence..
You got to be be kidding...
Fucking Hell..You guys crack me up..
lol agreed mate, its pretty dam sad when BHOP can pass off as being intelligent using words like legendarily.....
how can bernard be so ignorant as to call cooper "bert" and then not expect to be asked funny questions when he mentions the fight again? this was a classic case of using intimidation tactics to look as though he was in control of the interview, masking the fact that he himself is actually pretty thick.
with regards the ali situation, dundee cuts his gloves and gave his man extra time to recover. Ali was out on his feet. Theres also a suggestion that smelling salts were used....
Here we go...
Decifer this golden nugget of wisdom from above interview..
I'm talking about the fight, I'm not talking about legendarily or allegedly what happened. "
"I'm too smart for you. And you're not on my intelligent level. So I spank you nicely.....
Is That fucking English..
I've got to watch it again...The guy has me in stitches..:lol1:

Just watched the clip and it wasn't as bad as I thought. Again, the hype was over-elaborate. The best bit was Hop's eyeball at the end. Or, the part when he said, "you aint even on my intelligent level". What an ass, if he wants to prove his INTELLIGENCE he could at least have got the sentence right. BUT, is saying all that, I think Hop had every right to take the reporter for a 'quiet word'. Disgraceful question.
Really?
I actually had my mind changed by that video that Hopkins is actually intelligent. I thought he was a fucking idiot until I heard that. He was able to actually make that dude look like an idiot, and he didn't have to resort to threatening to beat his ass. LOL, nice one Bernard!

For a man who can't string a sentance together, he sure has a high regard for his own intelligence.
The reporter was taking the piss out of Hopkins, throughout most of the interview...Most yanks and Hopkins are too dumb to see it...
Quite a brave little man..
Hopkins ...THICK AS SHIT!!!!
