They're scared of having to make Cotto vs. floyd. floyd does not want to go through that hell. so the poewrs are lining up Paul 'the pawn' Williams to try to eliminate Cotto from the game.
But it's odd because Cotto is a bona fide star and a floyd vs. Cotto fight is a very appealing one, a great match up of contrasting styles. but they are trying to jepordize/cancel this fight by trying to get Williams to fight Cotto and beat him first.
why would they try to ruin such a great fight floyd vs. Cotto which everyone wants to see?
floyd fans think this fight will happen in 09 but they are wrong. floyd and his protectors do not want this fight EVER.never ever. they are trying to use Williams to cancel out the Cotto vs. floyd fight. ths is a mistake by boxing. this fight has to happen. Williams would face the winner. but floyd will never ever face williams
they're all doing it to protect mayweather from trouble.
I agree about Williams being overrated. I don't even see the fascination with him TBH. He's tall, throws tons of punches alot that don't land, big reach and throws a slapping jab and is southpaw. Against Marg, alot of his punches were being blocked but he started so late he cost himself the fight. The 10th round, he was getting beaten up and he was holding on, his face was more bruised than Marg which is funny considering he calls himself "The Punisher". I give him credit he held on to win a close one but that is all he has done.
His fights vs. Pakau, Mathyse, Mitchell weren't that great, and he does get hit alot. The rest of his record is pretty pathetic, until he fought Mathyse the guys on his record was packed with losing records. I remember reading that Cotto before Mosley was his opponent last November, said he didn't have a problem fighting him because he didn't see the big fascination except that he threw ton of punches and was tall and long. Williams seems a little obsessed with Cotto trying to piggyback him too, following him to Puerto Rico and even training there all the time, why not try to build a fanbase in I don't know back home? He's like DLH who stalked Trinidad and moved to his island to be near him. :haha:
I didn't even read you post yet just wanted to say I repsect your screen name. That is a man who should be a HOF offensive lineman. One of the original "HOGS". Don't stand in front of Jacoby on the good ole "Counter Trey". Nothing else more needs to be said.
Just fucking retarded. PBF beats both Cotto and Williams right now. PBF best bet is to fight Williams sooner than later. Once Williams learns how to fight tall and throw his jab with authority it will make him very hard to beat. Right now Williams is very beatable for a very skilled and smart boxer such as PBF. But once Williams learns to fight tall and throw real punches and combos instead of just throwing punches to throw them he could be a lot like Hearns. We all just about saw how Leonard vs. Hearns I went.the difference is though is that floyd is more pronouncd with his defense than leonard was, which is why i don't care how williams fight, floyd's defense is too good for him, and he controls the pace too good for paul. paul would have to fight tall against floyd, but he would have to do this in at a tempered pace and not waste too maby punches, because floyd is accurate as shit and can counter to the body very well which many people on here seem to forget. floyd is a great body counterpuncher which he would have to be against paul who if he fought tall. i don't see any style at 147 beating floyd period.
I can agree with Forrest giving PBF problems but I don't agree with Williams right now. Williams doesn't fight tall or behind a authoritative jab. Williams work rate is actually poor considering the amount of quality punches he throws in that big ass amount of punches he throws. Offense as you defense will not work against somebody as skilled and smart as PBF is right now. Oce Williams really learns how to use his height as a advantage, throw a real authoritative jab and set up serious combos off that jab then he will give PBF but as of right now I don't see it.
I can live with that, but Williams is gonna get better with time, Forrest would deffo give mayweather issues, thing is, forrest defenisively isnt as good as people think, Floyd is beatable though, use a jab on him and fire shots off it, or time him coming inside (which is hard because he tends to throw one shot at a time) and you have a good chance.
Its so true, ive thought that for a while, guys like Forrest and Williams who are rangy, tall, high-output fighters would give mayweather real problems.

Exactly, I thought I was the only one who thought that too. That jab of his lazy and his output isn't control or organized, he is just throwing punches. He is very beatable!
I think Williams is a much harder fight for Floyd than Cotto would every be. Williams' style and height is all wrong for Mayweather.

I'm not sold on Williams yet. He pitty patted his way to a victory over Antonio Margarito (who I still say is overrated). He has no snap in his punches, more like slaps if anything.
Cotto would have no trouble with Williams. Once he gets inside and Williams feels Cotto's power, it's a wrap.
What about his style do you mean? I'm with you on the height but right now I don't think his style (basically a high work rate) would give Floyd all that much trouble. I think Floyd could get inside on him because Williams' jab isn't all that great yet IMO.
Height, reach and high workrate. If you look at Floyd's opponents, they don't throw enough punches. They wait until he's up against the ropes and then try to unload some punches.
Agreed. Williams doesn't really fight like the tall fighter that he is and is still beatable right now. Once he does and if he can still make 147 he's gonna be a lot of trouble. I wonder how long he can continue to make that weight though.
Thank you actually reading what I wrote.
juan, have u read your posts, and seen the complete, and utter bullshit u write? u must not , for even u can not possibly be such a complete moron! can u? find something else to do, we get it, u don't like floyd! really, we understand! so stop wasting the boards space trolling hate threads!
I'm convinced this guy is that writer scoop malinowski. Another poster here who frequents EBS told me this guy uses the same lines that Scoop uses in his Mayweather hate articles. :cop:

floyd is very eager to face Cotto, the fact that he says his body is breaking down, he's going to mma, hiatus and in a two year retirement and won fight Cotto because of Arum are all just coincidental excuses. floyd really does want to fight Cotto he really does.
Oh yeah, Floyd is definately giong to MMA, that wasnt shit talk he was being serious, and he really isnt gonna fight for another two years either, thats true, just like when he retired after the Baldomir fight, then after De La Hoya. Cotto is fearless, he only fights top fighters in their prime like............no one
When Floyd called him out at 140 he did................nothing
Cotto couldnt fight the best fighter in the world because floyd was so scared, instead of waiting around to fight a world class fighter, he fights.............Alfonso Gomez.
:lol1:
just freaking retarded. pbf is not Leonard and Williams is not Hearns. Pboyfloy lacks the courage of Leonard and the all around style. and for some keyboard warrior to get on hear and insinuate taht Williams doesn't know what he's doing in the ring is ludicris. floy fears Cotto everyone knows it. Williams is their last salvation to save floy from the beatdown he will get from Cotto.

Reading comprehension will take you further in life than just being angry and banging out dumbass replies because someone disagrees with the bullshit you type up.

Cotto would have some trouble with Williams. Williams has the potential to give any WW trouble. He's similar to Winky in that regard b/c he seems like he could make any champ look a bit awkward
