and your reasons for having them.......
Mike tyson career set - loved his knockout power and sheer brutality, is also good for friends who aren't into boxing that much
Roberto Duran career set - my favourite fighter of all time
Ricky hatton career set - a current favourite of mine
Arturo Gatti career set - Warrior, really enjoyable fights, good to show friends again who arn't really into boxing
Roy jone jnr career set - I like to watch roy in his prime for pure boxing ability and his speed, its amazing
Marco antonio barrera career set - an amazing career, some great fights and a great fighter all round, i loved how he changed into more of a boxer in the later stages of his career
21 julio cesar chavez fights - a true legend with some amazing fights in the set i have.
Where did you buy all those and how much money did you spend?
I've compiled these over time from different areas; Ebay was a big help before they cracked down on the copywright infringements. I still get a set or two there. I also get them from different vendors online..I've been buying from WCBoxing and Junkies recently and Antonio30 from here has hooked me up a few times as well.
As far as how much I've spent...I cant put a figure on it and I'm afraid to. Early on, I spent more than anyone probably should have. Now prices have dropped dramatically from when I started. I still dont mind spending good money if the set includes rare or hard to find fights; I spent some big bucks compiling my Micky Ward and Duran sets...I still havent found anyone with a set of either of those two guys that is as extensive as mine (I think I have about 72 of Duran's fights, not including documentaries!). But nowadays, you can compile sets from some of the guys I mentioned above for around $40 each. And if you are patient and have the space on your computer, d/l them from all the people who are nice enough to upload them here and burn and edit them to dvd. I actually like it better this way, since I can customize the dvd to my hearts content (motion menus, background pics, music).
Since I just got married, it's a little harder to spend the money, though I still try to compile sets if I find a good deal...I'm trying to get my hands on a Tapia set within the next couple of weeks that I have been searching for years for.
What fights have you got on your dempsey collection the only one i have got is the Jess Willard fight, I have seen the tunney fights in terrible super fast film.
The ones I have in my set are against Willard, Carpentier, Gibbons, Firpo, Tunney 1 & 2, Sharkey and Brennan. Plus a documentary or two.
they used to be easy to buy on ebay i brought most of mine on there but its been banned now. there are a few users on here who sell there collections
yeah its a shame that, i got every tyson fight with a couple of documentaries and about 10 amateur fights for £10 off ebay.

Thanks...Zarate is definately a name that is forgotten among the great Bantamweights of all time. Now, career sets is a subjective term...the guy had 65 fights, but we as collectors obviously colelct only those fights that were televised and available on tape. I'm sure that there might be a fight or two floating around in someones private collection, but of the fights that seem to be available, there are only 15. I got them for a failry good rpice from a guy who seemed to have closed his site down. I can try and see if I can find his email address in my records in case you want to contact him.

Over 50 career sets, over 5000 fights.
I have about 5 other sets and 1000 other fights that arent even listed that I'm working on.
The best deal in there looks like the Matthew Saad Muhammad collection. Those were all great fights.
where do you get yours?
