Biggest Myths in Boxing ,
Hagler should have got the decision against Leonard
Nigel Benn was a huge puncher ,big puncher but not in the class of Jackson ,G-Man
Lennox Lewis was packing Glass
Judah showed heart in the Cotto fight
Eubank was finished by the time he fought Calzaghe ,he was 28 at the time & has stated in his book he trained hard for the fight & he had no excuses what so ever ,Eubank had previously been in wars with J Jarvis ,R Close ,D Sherry,G Stretch Lmao
that Dela Hoya was flat out robbed against Trinidad
that Mike Tyson was unbeatable in the late 80's ,he fought nobody its no coincidence he got beat as soon as he faced the real deal Holyfeild who was also a top fighter
It doesn't say so anywhere but many think the champion should be given the benefit of the doubt and the challenger should take away his belt.
Like I said, it's all about how you score fights. It's a fact that people score fights differently.
Some people also think ring generalship is total bulls*** and ring generalship was one of the major reasons Leonard won that fight. He made Hagler fight his fight and messed with Hagler mentally.
the Champion also has to defend his belt ,Hagler never got started untill the middle rounds
a perfect example of ring generalship is how Montell Griffin beat James Toney ,Leonard v Hagler ,
But we will never find out because he only fought one elite fighter, got schooled and dissapeared from the sport. Anything can happen in boxing but going on the only actual super fight Hamed had, Morales and Marquez wouldnt have lost much sleep over him. I give him a chance against Pac.
This is not the object of the sport, the object is to land more scoring blows to your opponent than he lands on you, if a ko comes then all the more better. Malignaggi scores with lots of punches but hardly any of them are concussive, not that i'd like to take any
u really dont like Hamed do u big paulie
the object of the sport could be to entertain & what is more entertaining than a KO nothing really ,u can appreciate good ring craft but at the end of the day it is putting hurt on your oponent that people wanna see
It should be impossible (unless there were two boxers not throwing a punch and the other one got a point deducted) but we all know how boxing is.
For example, Ottke gets his ass totally kicked in the 6th round but wins it because a knockdown is called a slip and Reid is deducted a point for who knows what.
This match really should have been invistigated. It was fixed. Had to be.
It is impossible. If you don't throw punches you can't score and if you can't score you can't win the round. If it ever happened and the judge awarded the round to a fighter who didn't throw a punche then they should never be allowed to judge again.

If you make the other guy look like shit but barely throw punches yourself you might get the round unless the judges score based on aggression (even if it's not effective).
The judges might just look at the guy missing all of those punches and looking like a clown and forget that the other fighter didn't throw anything himself.
Or the opponent could have a point deducted or something like that.
It's not impossible but it is true that Willie Pep did not win a round without throwing a punch.

Yes but it would still be impossible to win a round without throwing a punch.
Yeah what a ridiculous thing to say the object of the game is hurt your oponent

it is a Myth that Just because Barrera beat Hamed that every other top Featherweight would have beaten him just because Barrera had his number
they would have had to get past the 3/4 round for a start which was hard for any Featherweight when Hamed hit as hard as he did in his prime
