These are the two big prospects at 160 to probably 175 when thier finished growing, who do you think will win if they fought when thier fully developed? Who has the most talent?
Purely hypothetical ofcourse.
Danny Jobs will be 28 by then and Andy Lee will be 31 BTW.
Dear Danny Jacobs,
I saw you knock out a guy who didn't deserve to be in the same ring as you now how about fighting me? It should be a good fight and maybe you can earn the reputation you have been given by the media? If you read this get in touch with me, maybe we can sort something out.
168 lbs or 160 lbs, lets do this, I'll knock you out.
Oh shit battle between the prospects. Should be a pretty good bout. Asian said Danny reads the forum every now and then so who knows.
Even then, chill.
Skils, Jacobs appears to have amazing handspeed. That's all you can say at this point. Those were amateur fights and mismatches at that, so he wasn't picking his shots, his power is all in his left, just what's needed in the ams. Can he be a great pro? Probably. He's going to have to slow down, cover up, fight from a stance, and straighten his right. None of that is in the video I just watched. You haven't even seen him take a punch in the face.
But he'll be damn exciting even if he falls short of your expectations.
I saw speed of hand and great defensive reflexes in the vid along with some power in his hands. He is still raw and is just getting brought up. I see tons of potential in DJ and I know he has to be brought up correctly to really live up to his potential. Like Andy and Danny, only time will tell.
It's hard to see how either guy performs in a superfight since neither has stepped up really. Particularly DJ, though he's my dude, he hasn't fought anyone of note and is coming off of 2 losses in the Olympic trials to Demetrius Andrade and Shawn Porter.
Let's see what the 08 Olympic team produces before making assessments.

isn't anyone else intrigued by this blockbuster fight?
Thought not!
Sorry I had to :boxing:
Obviously no one can really have a credible opinion on this, but I do hope we get to answer that question in an absolutely mega sized epic bout. I mean both these guys look like they are carrying that rare all time great type ability. We can only hope they both stay on track to settle this in due course.
The only thing I see a problem with is he throws too many goodamn wild shots. I've rarely ever seen amateur footage where he uses the jab to set up a huge right hand. Even when he throws combos, most of the time they really aren't short punches.
He's VERY fast and has good power, but he definietly needs to work on more of his fundamentals from what I have seen.
As for 2015...wow. I bet Paul Williams will be a middleweight by then. Aaron Pryor Jr. might be in the mix too (he's a middleweight too right?)
Yes he is.
I concur. I seriously hate counting eggs before they hatch but he is so fast along with having power in each hand. Lee looks pretty impressive as well but DJ is a PROBLEM.

Funny how you just named a fighter with an amateur career considered better than Jones's, Leonard's etc., but as a pro he was not quite on the elite level.
Could you predict, in '87, how good Jones would be in '97?
It wasn't because he couldn't adjust though, it was because he was fed up with how he was being handled and didn't take boxing seriously afterwards.
Yeah, you could see a lot of potential for greatness in Jones during the Olympics.
Learning how to throw it from Mark Breland doesn't hurt.
