i think thats very normal, i do the same...u know why?i mean, hide or not, has a reason...
but also i have to say that after losing against mayorga that didnt worked with him!!really i hated more the guy with all that diosiiito liiiiindo stuff and the way he fought ,made him look like a bitch
Jermain. I tend to dislike a lot of fighters until they lose.

Hamed was my first idol, that superiority was amazing...after receiving a beating By Barrera i followed barrera until his retirement.., now i think Hamed was overrated, fighting bums unless kelley and 2-3 more and he didnt really never went back to the game after his loss, what he did after Barrera was bullshit
Hatton, Floyd, Cotto and "oh my god unbelievable but yes Paulie Malinaggi" are growing on me...but specially in the case of malinaggi...i really hated that guy but now, after taking a beating the way he did against cotto and recompose himself to win the title had gave him some points :)
same here! i hated paulie, but he showed me so much heart against cotto i became a fan!

alfonso gomez has grown on me.
no i dont think he should be fighting cotto based on what hes done, but the fact that he is willing to take a fight in which everyone expects him to get murdered is old school
honestly when i watched the first episode of contender i thought "who is this pussy lookin babyface hes gonna be the first one to go"
he proved on that first season that he was a classic overachiever, if you look at the other guys from the show..... mora, manfredo, brewer on the following season.. gomez has more fight in him than all the other guys combined.
so from all the assholes, all the egos, all the shit talk on that show... the guy who never ran his mouth and worked his ass off has ended up the real winner.
i
I use to be a big Roy Jones fan...but now, after 'Sleepytime',and taking an objective look at his career,as in who he fought and who he didn't...not so much.
His last three fights are a reminder of his opponents in his prime.
Yes he was fast, had great hand speed, power and so on...but now I feel I should have joined the 'Roycott'.
ppl like you disgust me
Miguel Cotto. I used to dislike him, mainly because I had the wrong impression of him. After I got to see him more and realized he's a pretty humble guy, and of course a great fighter, I became a fan.
Israel Vasquez. This guy is simply awesome to watch.
Kelly Pavlik. Didn't think much of him until he beat Miranda (which is when I became a fan), then after Taylor I knew he was the real deal.
Jermaine Taylor (a little bit). I used to hate him, he pissed me off with his sub-par performances. Then, idk what happened, after his loss to Pavlik I kind of see him in a different light. Funny how that can work.QUOTE]yeah i am a diehard pavlik fan, but i liked jermain more after they fought, and actually felt bad for the kid when they were interviewing him in the locker room! he was curshed that he lost his title, and could barely contain his tears! felt bad 4 him!
Great thread idea....
Personally a couple years back for some reason I hated Juan Diaz. I don't really know why but I just wanted to see him lose. (same with Rocky juarez, but I got to see a couple of those lol) Anyway after watching him the past couple of years how could anyone not like this guy as a fighter. He's earned me as a lifelong fan.
On the flip side I was always a Judah supporter why I don't know at times but really liked the Zab i saw when he was a focused fighter and knew he had great potential but after many let down and melt downs on his part I'm done.....fuck him. He's a wasted talent.
I still don't like Floyd, Never have but I will also admit I have great respect for his skill in the ring and most of the time enjoy his ifghts....but can't bring myself to be a fan of his.....too many other things I don't like about how he carries himself in general.hey thanks, and thanks or the great post!

I wasn't too fond of Calzaghe, especially as a big Hopkins fan, but he's definitely grown on me.
I couldn't stand Joe before either, and I thought he was a protected fraud. The Kessler fight made me see things in an entirely different way. He is a tremendous competitor who knows how to win. Calzaghe and Hopkins both have that in common.
Miguel Cotto has really grown on me...I had my doubts about Cotto and I bet on Mosley and Judah over Cotto and lost my money...Cotto keeps proving me wrong and I have slowly become a fan, his style is fun to watch and his heart and power are top notch...I can't wait to see Cotto vs Mayweather...Floyd needs to grow some balls and fight Cotto.

Roy Jones. He and one of my favorite fighters B-Hop don't get along so I always disliked Roy. He's ok with me now especially since the arguments between me and his fans has settled down.
I never liked floyd mayweather... at all.. Coming from a big hatton fan i basically despised the guy. But i gotta give credit where credit is due... Hes the best, i think he also showed alot of class after the Hatton fight, and that his antics before every fight arent really what he is all about deep down. No one is gonna beat that guy, ever
