Okay... because at that point he had already vacated the featherweight and lost the lightweight I thought.
Also, apparantly that fight was only recognized as the World Middleweight Title fight by the state of California.
it was only recognized in california, being only a 10 rd fight, but garcia had the n.y.s.a.c. (i believe) mw title at the time, which was regarded.

But the fact is that he still won 9 rounds, running or not he was robbed
I thot Jose Luis Castillo should have gotten the desicion against Mayweather, I won't say its a robbery because the fight was close, but the scorecards were way off
Maybe you had him winning nine rounds, but I didn't. Oscar was ahead after nine rounds, but he sure didn't win all of them. Many of those early rounds were very close.
1988 Olympics Roy Jones Jr
Without doubt although nothing will ever compensate Roy for the loss, the shame it brought on Amateur Boxing did lead to the new, fairer system (still not perfect).
I'm suprised the IOC haven't gone back and stripped a load of guys in different sports e.g. the whole of the East German athletics, swimming and rowing teams conclusive proof of doping has been found in the Stasi files yet the pussies have done nothing about it.
There should be a ceremony reinstating all those atheletes that were robbed of medals
