#2 Karmazin drops down to #8 with his loss.
Unranked Bunema jumps to #4.
Whoever the previous #8 was is completely off the rankings now.
And somehow... #3 De La Hoya stays where he is, and #4 Vernon Forrest jumps up to #2, with neither Oscar or Vernon fighting in the last week.
The Ring confuses me sometimes.

who's ranked #1?
The link at the end of the original post shows the rankings ine very division for thsi week. Save it in your favorites, because it updates every week, usually on Monday or Tuesday. It takes a little longer sometimes, but it's still nice to see how the weekend's fights shook up the division.
Cory Spinks is ranked number one, Vernon Forrest is number two and should be number two because he'd wipe the floor with the whole division. And as much as I love Mayorga, he needs to beat a ranked jr middleweight in order for him to get in ring magazine.
my point exactly. how can a fighter have 1 win in five years, lose their title to a welter weight and still be ranked in the top 10?
and if you can do that, why isn't karmazan still in the top 10?
To be honest, his recent fights at 154 have been one of the most thorough destructions of a boxer in history against Mayorga, and a SD loss to P4P #1...
#3 is probably too high though, I agree.
To whoever said that Vernon shouldn't be ranked high because of his oppositiuon, the problem with talking about opposition at 154, is that there just isn't a lot of it in the division. It's a pretty shitty division. Wins over Baldomir and Piccirillo really aren't bad wins in the 154 division.
Floyd gave up that belt to keep his welterweight title.

i don't think so. and where is floyd's name? he has the belt and got it by beating the #3 ranked fighter. so where is his name. face it the ring is full of shit.....

And michelle piccolloro. He's looked very good lately and has a title. I'd rank him 2 in the division.
Reason why Oscar's so high is because he could still beat most of the people in his division.

Forrest is ranked high...wtf. Because of a win over Baldomir? lol lol.....

That is why I stopped reading it, completely. The Ring has become a joke and lost ALL credability.
if The Ring is the Bible of Boxing, what is the Koran?
who cares what a Magazine thinks and ranks its fighters?
It's widely accepted as the authority on boxing, so it makes so difference to boxing.
Where is Alcine? He is the 2nd best fighter in that division.
Somewhere in the 4-6 range.

Ring Magazine is owned by its #3 rated junior middleweight fighter. So what if he has only won one fight at that weight in over four years? Bible of Boxing my ass. :fu2:
