As long as those running the RING can keep their rankings objective and free from commercial influence (there are possible conflicts of interest at present) there should be no reason why the rankings cannot be used as either a carrot or a stick to persaude fighters to come out of their alphabet comfort zone and prove they are THE best period

I thought the Ring belt changed hands if you were beaten at your weight, so I guess they must have been talking about the alphabet bouts (is there some legal reason for not calling a bout for Ring belts a title fight??) Is there anyone with a better knowledge of the RING rules that could set me straight??? If at 175 I think the Ring belt is on the line. The alphabelt bouts don't acknowledge the Ring belt. This wasn't very helpful. I realize that now.
