If Floyd beat Cotto convincingly and without contraversies, what would the Cotto fans think of Floyd? Just curious would you:
a) be blinded by your hate and continue to disrespect him, saying Cotto was too easy for Floyd and was yet another hand picked oppent all while pointing out other opponents that would easily handle Floyd
b) Think it was a bad night for Cotto and criticise Floyd for being a coward since he wont give Cotto a rematch.
c) Give Mayweather some props for beating a top contender
d) Think Mayweather is a great fighter who can adjust to any fighter regardless of size and still come out victorious.
C'mon... I like Floyd. This is ridiculous. Let's get him to fight Cotto... then Williams... then Margarito. I have no doubt that he can win these fights... but I want to see greatness, not guess at it. I think everyone feels the same way. It's disappointing following Floyd right now.
Yee are a true Floyd fan, and a true Patriot!
If Floyd can KO Cotto he will get even more credit. If he beats him by fighting a safe fight I think people will still pick on Floyd.
LMAO OH SHIT!!! That sig is so fucking funny!!!
Fine, point for you. But when the best at 140 is Hatton, Malignaggi, Torres or Witter you aint saying much. But the Hatton win was indeed impressive; but like I said in my post, no one really tought Hatton had a chance. Cotto does.
The best at 140 is Hatton.
Malignaggi, Torres and Witter are way below, they dont have star power and are also not remotely as good. Hatton is a ring magazine champion, and is one of the few ring magazine champion, who beat someone relevant to be where he is (Zoo). So saying Hatton is saying much.
A lot of people gave a hell of a chance to Hatton (including me), as he had most of what you want stylewise to give all sort of troubles to Mayweather. Too bad he was not 10-15 pounds heavier than Mayweather like Cotto is (only like 5 pounds). Too bad Mayweather never got hit with a left hook to the body all night. Too bad Mayweather turned out to be as good as fighting a dirty fight on the inside and in the clinches as he is boxing "pretty" on the outside, something which not even his most rabid fans imagined.

Only if the Floydboyz thought like you! They choose to come up with reasons why Floyd SHOULDNT fight Cotto, instead of demanding that he defend his title against the #1 contender in his weight class.
If Mayweather wins
1) some of the true cotto fans will gracefully accept defeat, some will come up with excuses.
2) floyd haters will just start talking down everything cotto has done.
You will read someone saying that all in all Cotto was not that much of a body puncher, not so good at cutting off the ring, and his jab wasnt all that good to begin with.
I will respect the Cotto fans and laugh at the haters.
AGREED then you might have people saying he should have fought williams cause he would ko cotto

I look at the fight like this. Its not "if" PBF beats Cotto. Its "when" PBF beats Cotto. I have no doubt in my mind that PBF can and will beat Cotto when they fight. I was 100% sure about the Hatton fight and I am 100% sure PBF will beat Cotto.
I'm a big Cotto fan, and I would think what I already think...that Floyd is one of the greatest of all time. That's the main reason I want them to fight, because Floyd is so good, but no way you can count Cotto out 100%. Would be a great fight.
mayweather - cotto
A true boxing fan can not take any thing away from floyd he has all the skills in the world A true champion but we all have our favorite fighters and I dont believe you win a fight by backing up there for I would have given the fight to delahoya so if mayweather wants to be considerd the best then dont back up he did not run on hatten then dont run on delahoya and see if he doesnt get his as kicked.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually Mayweather just fought and beat the best 140er.

PBF already earned my respect when he beat the only one ricky hatton. I will root for cotto to whoop him up so bad so that I will lose my respect for him again. lol
PBF already has my respect. He is the most talented fighter in boxing right now. But lets be rational about this, PBF hasnt beaten any of the top fighters at 140 and 147. He fought the best at 130 and 135 and beat them, but he is still missing that one fight that will make him "truly great". Dont get me wrong; just cause he hasnt fought the best at 147 and 140 doesnt mean he would lose to any of them. In fact I think he would beat them all. The two that would have a chance is Cotto and Williams. And Williams has a chance just cause of his size.
Boxing fans want Cotto vs Mayweather because its the only fight in which PBF might lose. Castillo is the only fighter that has given PBF trouble, and Cotto is the fighter which resembles Castillo the most. A come forward fighter that goes to the body and knows how to cut off the ring. Even though I give the edge to Mayweather if they ever fight, Cotto has a very good chance to beat him, which makes this fight so compelling.
PBf is so god damn good that everytime he steps in the ring you know he is gonna win, thats why people want this fight so much. Even if you think Mayweather is gonna beat Cotto, you cant deny that there is just a little doubt in your mind. What if Cotto lands a big left hook to the body?, what if Cotto traps him in the corner? What if? If PBF beats Cotto, its all props to him. No excuses, no debate, no nothing.
Actually Mayweather just fought and beat the best 140er.
LMFAO... 'Haters' - Ambiguous term for anybody who doesn't agree with your opinion.
Welcome to NSB, I guess.
When I use it is not ambiguous at all. In this case a hater is someone who decides tha Cotto can do this and that, then if they see soe of those weapons taken away from him, they will eat anything they said before. By slagging the fighter they were pushing 24 hours before they prove that it's hate towards Mayweather driving their opinions, not love towards Cotto, capeesh?
Pretty much what happened when Mayweather outwrestled and outroughed Hatton.
