I predicted the result and got it right.
Jone by wide UD, but does anybody feel Jones held back a bit from unleashing on Trinidad, and could have Ko'ed him if he wanted to early in the fight.
I mean Trinidad had no power to hurt JOnes, was Jones going soft on Trinidad and sympathising with him, and not punishing him?
F'sho...

Without a doubt.
Roy was fighting the shell of a once great fighter.
Roy should make the fight w/ Calzag.
Then, we can tell if Jones still got the goods. :boxing:
I heard he stopped doing that when in one of his past fights he put a guy on a wheelchair, infact the only guy he really went out to punish afterwards was Montell Griffin after the DQ loss which at the time was his 1st..
thats just something I heard though, IMO I think Jones was just being smart, he caught Tito with a good shot but early on Tito hit him with some good body blows, I think Roy earned some respect for Tito and even though he was dominating in terms of Boxing he knew that a puncher like Trinidad can do damage with just 1 flush shot, he played it very smart and I tip my hat to him but I don't think it was due to sympathy I think it was due more to him not getting over anxious and trying to press a knockout because it could have back fired..
not to say Jones ain't a phenom butlets kick it real here Trinidad can bang so even if he's hurt it wouldn't favor Jones to just jump on him, he does that and he positions himself to be hit back, he shouldn't want that so he kept it moving, it was a temple shot that Tito recovered from and the second KD was a flash one but other than that Tito was fine.. as a matter of fact he won the early half of the fight he just started playing mouse on the wheel exactly as I said he shouldn't in my analysis, he held off his attack and started looking for ways to land 1 blow, the rest was meaningless punches that got easily countered, EXACTLY as I said he shouldn't do if he wants to win, he DID want to win but he fell victim to Roy's gameplan..
Roy is a beast but trust me it wasn't charity and lets say it was then more power to Roy but we have to remember Trinidad is a man with 2 hands of his own and to just scream sympathy is the kind of disrespect he doesn't deserve especially after such a strong rally in those first 6 rounds..
i think rjj def held back tonight. i mean im a HUGE ass rjj fan, but to keep it REAL he frustrated the hell out of me especially in the early rounds not giving a F and giving them away to tito. i was like oh fuck heres the glen johnson fight all over again god damn it!
but rjj really came back in the middle of the fight and really wanted to display his superiority over tito. but like many stated he didnt really punish or finish tito off when he clearly could have? wtf? i mean its like he almost made an agreement with tito or don king to not ktfo tito????
I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING IN A WAY, THIS IS ANOTHER GOLDEN JOHNSON FIGHT, JONES DID STEP IT UP, BUT JUST ENOUGH TO WIN, THE KNOCKDOWNS ALMOST LOOKED FAKE. BUT IN JONES LAST COUPLE OF FIGHTS HE STARTING SLOWER AND SLOWER, PUNCHING LES AND LESS. I THINK HE'S DONE, HANG THOSE GLOVES UP AND START TRAINING THE KIDS TO FIGHT
well i read somewhere, that ever since his friend became paralyzed in a boxing fight against nigel benn or eubank cant remember, he said that he doesnt wana really hurt some1. his just satisfied with a win.
YEA I REMEMBER WHEN HE SAID THAT, BUT WHEN HIS CAREER IS ABOUT TO END AND HE'S TRYING TO GET BACK TO THE TOP HE'S NOT WORRING ABOUT HURTING SOMEONE ELSE HE'S WORRING ABOUT SAVING HIS LEGACY. JONES DID'NT HOLD BACK, IMO THAT'S A COPOUT, JONES DID'NT HAVE ENOUGH LEFT TO FINISH THE JOB, PERIOD
I Don't Think Jones Held Back, I Think He Did'nt Have Enough Left To Finish Tito. Jones Was Accurite And Had Good Punching Speed, When He Punched. I Remember How Fast And Explosive He Use To Be, He's Not Even 1/4 Of His Former Self. If He Can't Get Rid Of Tito, How Is He Gonna Do Against Someone Like Big Joe? He Needs To Retire Before Someone Hurts Him. As For Tito, I Think He Did Really Good For Someone That Has'nt Fought In Almost Three Years. He Could Possibly Have A Rematch With Oscar If He Pushed For It, And Oscar Not Being So Greedy.
Your right, after eubank brain damaged jones friend herald MClenan (sp?) jones has never seeked to hurt an opponent or brutalize them in a severe way. He was ddeffinatly holding back againg tito, he could of easily pulled the plug by dropping him one more time and making the ref wave the fight off. But if he fought hopkins i think jones would unleash hell.

Jones was saying pre-fight that if he didn`t stop trinidad it would be unacceptable.
Just looking at them Roy looks so much bigger than Tito, Tito has almost a featherweights build where Roy looks like he could be over 190lbs if he wanted.
Jones should give it up now and go out on a win.
