Not if Golden Boy Promotions has anything to do with it... I hope Floyd doesn't forget in a match that he clearly won, he got a split decision... Which is as close to a loss, other than a draw, that you can get...
Floyd says he wants to build his legacy... There are no fights out there that do that for him except maybe a match with Mosley... The OLDH II fight would only generate more money which I'm sure is his logic for fighting him again... If it goes to the cards, don't be surprised...

You're right. Mayweather's taking a dive.
so he cant lose under GBP. or he cant lose TWICE under GBP?
LOL! I was just making reference as to him losing a "split" decision last time... If this fight were to actually happen I think that Floyd would win in an even more convincing fashion but, still only get a split... If the fight is as close (which to me wasn't close at all), ODLH may get the "split" decision...
Update:
Floyd: 7/7
ODLH: 7/7
Mosley: 5/7
Cotto: 3/7
The last guy told me how he has met Floyd and SRL before... And he did a phone interview with Ali many years ago...
The last guy I asked knew Paulie Malignaggi (couldn't say his name though) and didnt know Mosley or Cotto...
Floyd: 6/6
ODLH: 6/6
Mosley: 4/6
Cotto: 3/6
Paulie Malignaggi: 1/1 (lol)
The first "I don't know him", was for Mosley... That surprised me... It was a female, she knows Cotto but, not Mosley... Wow... I'll keep you posted on my results...
Floyd: 3/3
ODLH: 3/3
Mosley: 2/3
Cotto: 3/3
what ethnicity or race was the chick who said she never heard of Mosely but did hear of Cotto?

Technically, the rematch is justifiable. The first fight was a SD. (Even though to a trained eye, Mayweather clearly won.) I knew then there would be a rematch and I dreaded it due to the fact that the fight was disappointing. However, a SD is a grounds for a rematch. Many of us may not want to see it, but TECHNICALLY, it's justified.
Mayweather is going to win this one too.
I think Mayweather just needs to retire if he is not going to make a fight that the fans want to see. I think he needs to fight Cotto, regardless of whether Cotto wins or loses to Gomez. Even if just to hush the critics. Mayweather had a spark when he fought Hatton and it was explosive. How do you go from that to fighting Oscar again.
When Floyd KO'd Hatton, most casual fans said "Who?"...
If Cotto losses to Gomez, there is no way Floyd fights him... If he beats Gomez, so what!
As of now, for my "Do you know?" poll:
Floyd: 2/2 "yeah"
ODLH: 2/2 "of course"
Mosley: 2/2 "yeah"
Cotto: 2/2 both said, "I've heard of him"
everyone loses if this fight gets made, even casual fans know this is B.S.
Its good for the health of the sport though, isn't it? This fight sold over 2 million PPV buys!!! It was huge. That means it went beyond boxing fans to the mainstream sports fans. I think any time the sport gets in the spotlight, its good for the sport.

just like it cotto fighting gomez. then again, those complaining dont have to watch
For the heck of it... I'm gonna ask people I see if they watch boxing... The first ten I see that do, I will ask them if they know Mayweather, Cotto, ODLH, and Mosley... I'll post the results as soon as I have them...
If they build up the fight correctly, they'll know who Cotto is. Cotto is already very popular in NY and obviously in Puerto Rico. I think a Mayweather-Cotto fight would make big money.
I agree that Mayweather is on another level, but when people look back on Mayweather's resume, they'll see that he never beat a top welterweight during his reign and that could hinder his historical standing.
This is what i've been saying.. Baldomir's name just isn't gonna cut it..
