Earnie Shavers vs Randy Cobb

.....Tex was a character to be sure. One bad assed street fighting mofo. His character in "Raising Arizona" was the best.

Tonight on ESPN Classic, they're scheduled to show Shavers vs Tex Cobb. Where I live (Pennsylvania) it starts at 12:00 midnight. This was a slobber-knocker fight. That fight was on the undercard of Hearns-Cuevas in Detroit. Shavers was definitely on the downside of his career at that point.

Earnie is one of my favorite fighters to watch. His grit and power and vulnerability always made his fights exciting. As for Randall, he is a poster on Eas.tsideboxing's front page. He doesn't post as much anymore. He always hated my articles and hates George Foreman, but is actually a pretty funny guy still. Loved his one-liners. Tex does give good insight on the 70's heavyweight scene.
