Its funny the things that Cotto has to do to earns a shot with Maywether when Maywether has fought less recognition fighters in Boxing resume and in exposure. Baldomir has a better resume than Cotto? i don think so who he beats? Judah ok impresive what more he got? nobody. And what do you think about Henry Bruseles? a sparring partner of Cotto. thats a guy thats is not even a champ. For your info Cotto can be if he fights Floyd one of the top 5 oponents that maywether would have if we look to his resume. And how many fights Floyd has? more than 30 i guess. So that tells you that theres like 25 oponents that floyd has fought that are lesser qualified than Cotto. So why Cotto has to do more???. You are asking a guy that already has a better resume than most of the oponents that floyd has in his carrer and also is a champ to fight the other top 5 welters that the same floyd dont want a piece of them to only have a shot with him? Thats is disrespectful and unfair. But that is not a problem because Cotto is not on a vacation and if the fight with Foyd doesnt materialize hes going to fight the best oposition in 147. The gomez fight is a tune up fight waiting what happens with floyd or DLH because Williams has to raise his exposure i bit more. But expected i fight with margarito by the end of the year. That would give time to williams to enhance his exposure and later of margarito he can take williams if maywether keeps ducking him.

i agree although i think cotto deserves a shot at mayweather i don't think mayweather will take the fight unless cotto beats these guys which will force floyd into fighting him although i think a cotto win over de la hoya would do it but would he beat him? well he beat the same guy that beats DLH twice so i like his chances. Even that mosley is 37 i bet my money with him in a third rematch with DLH so if cotto beats Mosley ofcourse he has a legitimate shot to beat DLH.

The whole point of the card is to showcase Cotto and Margarito. If they win their fights they'll probably fight each other later in the year but they could've come up with somebody better than Gomez.

Yeah, the Gomez fight is silly. He did fight two legit opponents last year and is still in the stage of his career where he's allowed to "cash in" on those wins. Let's just hope he doesn't make a habit out of it. Hopefully we'll see Mayweather/Cotto by the end of 2008.

He needs to stop complaining and keep winning his fights..Floyd is the top dog in the sport right now and has earned his position..Floyd doesnt owe anything to Cotto..Miguelito was supposed to fight Margarito after Mosley but instead is fighting a tune up fight in March.. If Miguel wants to get Floyd's attention, he needs to continue to build on his resume and maybe he should fight Paul Williams and Kermit Cintron and take their belts in order to force a welterweight unification showdown with Floyd in the future because a fight like that would Earn Alotta Money for both fighters..But who knows its well known Miguel doesnt choose his opponents his management team does and thats why he didnt fight Floyd a few years back because they knew Miguel would probably lose..it was smart by cotto's management not to pursue a fight with Floyd because this past year or so Miguel has gained valuable experience and exposure and doesnt have a blemish on his record so far.. all cotto has to do is keep winning and adding to his credentials and he'll eventually earn a shot at Floyd..Miguel should stop complaining and maybe focus on fighting Williams, and or Cintron..
