i dont know if anybody noticed it but i just wanted to point out that pavliks corner men miguel diaz knew what to say and jack lowen just agreed. its nothing big, but i belive that lowen was not ready or might not be ready to be in such a high level fight. if it wasnt for diaz advice i belive lowen would of been lose after the second round. i think people wanted to call him trainer of the year but i have to question the fact that he seemed confused at times, maybe its just me. after the knock down in his corner you can here diaz ask for the double jab and lowen just repeated everything he heard diaz say.
and for every body else that keeps saying "they got a champion so shut up"
i never questioned lowe (what ever his fucking name is) i just said he didnt know how to act and talk during the fight, he might be good at teaching but as a corner man he was stuck and it took a vet like diaz to use his experiance in those type of fights to make sure pavlik got back on game plan after a very bad round
What a moronic thread and a bunch of moronic douche bags replied to it.
A fighter himself is 95% responsible for winning a particular fighter.
It's not the corners directions that give him the advantage.
Unless it's Joe Blow vs. a guy like Futch or Steward.
The trainer can see the openings but ulimately it's up the to fighter.
ANd who gives a fuck if he just agreed. They were probably chatting abotu it in between rounds. Leow is this guy's head trainers and probably thinks up a great gameplan for Pavlik to use time in and time out.
SO shut up thread start and posters.
THread closed.
Good night, guys.
dont like the tread shut the fuck up and dont post on it. of course fighters are the ones out there, but with out the direction or support of a good corner a fighter can lose control. if you new anything you would know that.
The trainer is there to pick up on tactical mistakes that is true, but he is also there to assure the fighter and make sure the fighter sticks with the fucking gameplan, especialy after he gets dropped.
If you take the time to read you fucking idiot you would see the point of this tread is to give diaz his props for acting when kellys trainer seemed lost for words.
Why is the thread starter calling him Lowell? His name is Loew.
I was wondering when someone would point that out. No one got his name right.
Lowe, Lowell, Lowen.
Anyways, whatever system they have going in Pavlik's corner is working, so why fix something that ain't broke?
the TEAM seems to work perfectly as they have made kelly the world champ! nothing matter except that kelly wins, and gets it done! they are doing an awesome job with him!
Man,,,i hope Pavlik goes to the body more in this fight,he barely threw a body shot, something that would work perfect against a guy with stamina problems
i wasnt trying to discredit lowell. he is good and he is learing as he goes about big fights, I guess what im trying to get people to see is how haveing a strong corner is very important because if one guy doesnt know what to say the other should be ready to say something. i guess when guys like diaz or chuck bodek(forget his name) dont get there due is kind of sad because they bring the experiance.
Oh yeah, something I liked after the 2nd rd in the Miranda fight was when both in their corners. Pavlik replies, he's done... Miranda's CORNERMAN replies, he's done! Can you tell which one is supremely confident?
Doesn't every corner tell the fighter to double the jab or jab more? It's like the running game in football. You always have to stay committed to the running game. No football team has ever lost because they ran too much. No fighter has ever lost cause they Jabbed too much.
oh and no not every corner ask for that. floyd and jones are some people who went fights with there corner never asking for jabs and for the most parts the won there fights
i think he is good. but the pressure and surprise of the second round kind of put him in a possition were it took him a while to remember what to say. of course its expected since its his biggest fight he has worked, but if diaz wasnt there the inexperiance of lowell could have given pavlik doubts, haveing a strong corner at times makes a fighter that much stronger after a hard round
oh i agree. But Lowell is rediculously confident in Pavliks abilities, so i dont think he would have ever been confused or unsure of what to do, but he might have been caught up in the moment or something if it werent for Diaz, i agree
Well I noticed this also. But not just in this fight. In the Miranda fight also after the 2nd rd. Lowe just follows pretty much whatever Diaz says. It's obvious he trusts Diaz though because Diaz has been through a lot of corners and wars. He knows his shit just as much as dealing with a cut. But you can't hate on Lowe or set a higher standard for him, after all, everything he's going through, all these big fights, it's all a first for him and it's learning experience. You can't help but understand how he would get nervous when they've gotten so far together.

the jab was just an example of how miguel diaz knew what to say and stayed calm during a situation were lowell was confused. Diaz deserves lots of credit for bringing experiance to the pavlik corner and staying cool in there
Jab?

Lowell is great IMO. He always gives the right direction. What diaz was telling Pavlik is what their entire training camp was focused on, and that was keeping Taylor uncomortable with the double jab. So whosever idea it was, it was decided before that moment in the corner
