I assume he would be in the top ten if he never would have lost to Sanders and Brewster. I think he'll dominate and K.O. Ibragimov, then beat the Peter/Maskeav winner. I give Maskeav a good shot in that fight due to the poor display by Peter against Mccline.
If you consider skills only, then Klitschko will not qualify at the top 30, but if you consider all the aspects involved, which make that fighter great at his specific wheight class, than Wlad is top 10, borderline top 10 at worst.
Second point: pound for pound mean exactly pound for pound. A pound of mine vs a pound of yours. Not 260 pounds of mine vs 240 pounds of yours.
A pound of mine for a pound of yours means a particular weight class. What P4P really means is if there were no weight classes and you only have to look at the fighter's skills and dominance without weight being a factor.
Klitschko has all the skill and dominance to be considered P4P. Its not just the size, cause he fought plenty of big men, its how you use it. Lennox Lewis was big with a huge reach and he was #4 on most of the P4P list for a long time.
i dont think he is ever gonna get p4p consideration, being the unified heavyweight champ trumps p4p recognition any day of the week anyhow
he is definately the most dominant fighter within his division in all of boxing. and yes that is partly cause the other guys arent as tough as say Cotto, Margo, Williams at welter.....
consider wlad is a -700 favorite against a guy considered the 2nd ir 3rd best in his division..... thats not going to happen in any other division in boxing.
That is an absolutely excellent point! Who can name anyone in any other division that dominates so much? (aside from Floyd)
another misconception. wlad is undefeated against bigger men. mccline 6'6 260+ derrick jefferson 6'6 260 wolfgramm 6'5 330 carlos monroe 6'7 260 he knocked all of them out easily. if anything,,,he has bigger problems against smaller speedier fighters
I think that if he fights Sam Peter again, he knocks Peter out this time. Peter's too slow.
he needs to be more active. None of the other title holders have alot of recognition but if he can knock out 4 guys in the top ten a year that would be something at least. Do the 80's Tyson style career it just creates alot of excitement to see this 6'6 devastator laying guys out on a a regular basis even if they're not the biggest names.
Imagine this hipotetical case. I'm a coordinated 7ft giant who have basic boxing skills, nothing special. Yet i jab KO every opponent of mine because in the majority of cases i outweight them by 60 pounds, which i have in muscle while most of them have it in fat if they have it.
Now imagine someone like Manny Pacquiao who has to compete with guys exactly his physical conditions to the quarter of a pound! Is it fair to you we put those in the same list? The only HW ever i could tolerate in a p4p ranking would be Ali because he was really skillful and inovative in many ways. Even him i have an hard time considering p4p.

Ouch.......................
Im just kidding. But I think that there is some truth to him having to do more to be taken seriously by some fans. But the real answer is he got knocked out by two guys who shouldnt have beaten him, and he is in a weak era. I happen to think he is a very, very good heavyweight, but it will be hard to prove that with the lack of competition he has and how bad he usually makes them look.
wlads own success is his biggest detriment, only people with nothing to lose want to fight him.
im honestly very surprised sultan signed the fight, but then again he cant get half as much money fighting anyone else.
most of the other guys who are unifed champs got the opportunity because they looked vulnerable.. ie... david haye got his shot cause moremeck thought he was a soft pretty boy limey who could be knocked out.... calzaghe gets whatever fights he needs because guys like lacy, kessler know worst case scenario is they lose decisions and get paid well in the process..... pavlik got his breaks because miranda and taylor thought he was a slow ass white boy who could be easily knocked out.
notice the way the dildos are dancing around each other at welterweight, its because theyre all too dangerous to each other... a setback in that division puts you out of the picture and two or three wins from getting a big time shot
Not on TV; this is a CB show, not PPV
oh i know, i couldnt tell if he meant televised or not so i thought id put the info out there. on boxrec, it lists the joe greene fight at the top of the card so maybe that one will end up being televised
sure is
mean joe greene
john duddy
and my main man johnathon banks... i dont think opponents are squared away
at least 1 or 2 more fights on the card
