I think he was hurt to begin with by a string of decision wins to start his career. You have to be pretty spectacular if you don't knock over most of your first ten opponents. His first seventeen fights saw him draw nearly as many as he won by stoppage, and that hurts a young professional when it comes to building a reputation. By comparison Ricky Hatton had 14 stoppages in his first 17 fights. Even Malignaggi had four knockouts in his first 17 fights.
Another factor is that when Witter was given his shot against Judah he was in survival mode from start to finish. That hurt him really bad. Paulie by comparison may not have won against Cotto but he tried to, and his stock went through the roof.
Part of the problem with Witter is that instead of rolling his sleeves up and really going for it he seems to blame Hatton for his own lack of success. That must be what led Witter to follow the tedious and ill-advised path of popping up like a bad gay every time Hatton fought and saying stuff like "I will destroy you".
Not really. It took him ages to get to this point, because he is tough to watch and is involved in complete stinkers.
yeah it not like he brawls and stuff and his style is not amusing to everyone too. less action in it. but I find it intersting.
But I think if he was undeafted it was abit of different story. In boxing if you are undeafted you have higher publicy
his loss against Zab really fucked him up abit and it took a long time intell he got a title shot.
I think know he is in the spotlight he is going to use this oppuritiy to shine

I think he was underrated fr a long while but since Hatton lost he's being wildly overrated by the same talking heads who have been underrating Hatton (and trolling about Hatton) since before the Tszyu fight.
Witte is overrated. Tell me again, who exactly has he beaten? That's right, a Demarcus Corley who can't even beat a journeymen at this point in his career.
I wonder if Colin Lynes still quivers at the thought of stepping in the ring with Witter. Or Andreas Kotelink. Is it a coincidence that all these Witter 'fans' seem to hate Hatton at the same time?
We are boxing fans who actually hate the fact that some Hatton fans thinks Witter isnt deserving of a shot at hatton. Hatton is the champ at 140 and Witter is the number of contender..Now telling your solicitor(Lawyer) to come out with a statement that You wouldnt fight him if he continues to call you out is what makes us (The really fan) speak up about this situation.
If we're going to be label Hater for that then please pass me the Haterade and i would drink the whole content.

You might be biased towards Witter though
Am not, It seem everybody is trying to pull the man down because he chases a fight with hatton, I dont see whats wrong in boxers doing that.
Last time i checked Brendan ingle is Witter's trainer!!! Didnt Billy graham said the would Outpower PBF? Didnt Graham said LIVE on sky that they would never fight Carlos maussa because the guy is a joke and a clown who got lucky?QUOTE]
No when was that? Link??
Check through the archive on skysport for june 2005 Gatti/Mayweather, It would come up...Shortly after witnessing Maussa beaten a out of sort Harris..He said and "This guy has cost us some money by beating harris now, We would have no interest fighting this guy, His a joke and a clown" more of it on sky just check.
Which one the one where he said they would physically outpower PBF because he really isnt bigger than Hatton or the one he claim they wouldnt fight Maussa because he is a joke?
The one where he calls Maussa a joke.
