The author of this thread is obviously fucking idiot. Joe is a great champion. But he doesnt have 1 victory over a Hall Of Famer yet. While Floyd has beaten 4. He beat Castillo twice. He also beat 2 undefeated fighters in their prime (Diego & Hatton). Pacman has beaten 2 Hall of famers also. They both rank higher than Joe on rings P4P list.

Joe Calzaghe fought and convincingly defeated the top two most dangerous and risky threats at 168 Jeff Lacy and Kessler. Mayweather will not face his most dangerous and risky challengers at 147 Cotto and Margarito or Williams. He will not even face them. THis is why Calzaghe should be p4p tops, he is the clear no. 1 at his weight. Floyd is not the clear, many feel Cotto will beat him, or Williams or Margarito would to. To be the best you have to fight and beat the best. Joe did this and he did it in decisive and convncing fashion. Not even a logical argument. The fact that you are claiming Jeff Lacy is one of the "best" is just plain sad. Mayweathers wins over DLH, Hatton, Castillo and Corrales are superior to any victory of Calzaghe's.

Having been a world champion for ten years now, Calzaghe has spent a great deal of time turning down fights and has never really maximized his position, at least on a worldwide basis. He hasn't really fought what could be termed a "who's who" of the other competitors in his division; indeed, you could list a number of guys he did not fight, including Markus Beyer, Sven Ottke, Anthony Mundine, Danny Green, Antwun Echols, Mads Larsen, Frankie Liles and others. To be fair, ottke knew he couldnt beat calzaghe fair and square, and calzaghe would prolly beat all the guys you named, but you are right, one way or another he hasnt fought the other greats in and around his weight class, Jones, Prime Hopkins, Toney, even guys like Tarver and Glen Johnson there's obviously something going on there.

I don't think it's calzaghe's fault I think It's Frank Warren. After he lost Nassem because he brought him along a bit fast and his career got destroyed after Barrera he wanted to milk the most out of his fighters. Calzaghes proved (although a little late) that he is a great champ. Imagine if we had actually seen a prime calzaghe fight the kind of opposition he is seeking now. Yeah i actually agree., and im not being sarcastic either. Calzaghe to me proved that he was great when he beat Lacy and Kessler. They were two undefeated power punching champions in thier prime and he beat them easily. It would have been good if he fought prime Hopkins or Prime Roy Jones though.

i have no truck with the people that rate calz as thier no1, i myself however rate him about third or fourth just now, i do feel warren has held him back and as such i feel joe now has'nt the time to prove the doubters over.

lo you beat me to the punch. They ALL outweighed Floyd on fight night. Everyone has outweight Floyd at welter, except for maybe Hatton... I wish they would have released fight night weights. This includes Super Judah. Corrales was going to start fighting at 135, until Floyd called him out. He even vacated his 130 pound title to do this, which is why Floyd didn't get a second belt at 130 for beating Corrales. Obviously he had just moved up to 135, meaning Castillo easily outweighed him both times.
