Hey I am not a pbf fan so to speak, but like alot of you I am sick of the crying and bit*ching about pbf ducking fighters (especially when said fighters ducked him prior, i.e Cotto & Hatton).
So I have this CRAZY idea so PBF could please the fans and possible become the greatest fighter of all time!!!!
And make close to what he made in the De la Hoya or even Ricky Hatton fight.
Why dont Floyd Mayweather fight Paul Williams and Miguel Cotto on the SAME NIGHT?
Seriously!!!! I think this might work if not Paul Williams why not Antionio Margarito and Miguel Cotto on the same night.
WHO wouldn't buy this card????
Its obvious Paul Williams or Margarito don't provide enough payout alone to entice PBF to fight them right now esp. after cashing in so huge in his last two fights.
But Miguel Cotto vs PBF as the main event and Paul Williams (or Margarito) as the undercard just think how huge this promotion would be????
It would even appeal to casual fans like the DLH fight did.
Something never done in history (sort of how the New England Pats are trying for history so many ppl are interested in watching the Giants vs New England game this weekend)
What do you guys think? And just think of how this will please every fan (and whiners) and PBF legacy could go down as the Greatest of ALL time if he defeats both fighters. And win both belts on the same night!!!! (Cotto's WBA belt and Paul William's WBO belt)
And remember he will also get TWO PURSES. One from the undercard fight and one from the Main event. I would predict this card to sell somewhere around what the De La HOya fight did. Generating PBF crazy amount of money. Plus he can promote it himself with Pretty Boy Promotions (beat the Golden Boy and Bob Arum at their own games)
DISCUSS!!!!
That's pretty smart thinking; if Cotto beats DLH in a more convincing fashion than Floyd did, it may get Floyd to reconsider his comback...
Floyd Mayweather will fight Miguel Cotto if Cotto beats DLH no matter what. Cotto is Floyd's "investment" right now and he's just waiting for him to gain some more interest (a win over Oscar) before he cashes in on him. Come on guys, we just witnessed this with the Hatton fight.
Cotto should fight Oscar. A win will boost his Money up and it can get Floyd to start discussing his comeback, again. Without it, I'm not sure the Cotto fight will come off, unless Cotto is ready to take a huge hit on the % of the fight, which I doubt Arum will allow.
I could actually see Floyd going after Forrest instead of Cotto and Williams. Forrest has two wins over Shane, something Floyd would be interested in.

Not a bad idea but it's not practically feesible...
Btw: Have you heard that George Foreman in the 70's did something similiar when he fought 4 guys in one night?..
Hardly the point. I would order the card whether there was one fight or two fights. Financially, it would make more sense to Money May to have these fights separately and from a physical standpoint it would be impossible. Also, say Cotto knocks him out in the first fight - what happens then? Does he then go onto fight Williams? It just isn't possible I'm afraid.
Actually Cotto would be the main event. And like I said if PBF pulls it off he can retire as the GOAT.
LOL! that was a funny line good one. So you wouldnt order this card?

This is the least practical idea I have ever heard since the underwater hairdryer.
