Both Cotto and PBF recently stepped in the ring with "has-been" champions. The margin at which both Cotto and PBF victored over these former champions is very similar; by a small margin. Although this is the case, many of you mention that Cotto was barely able to beat a "has-been" champion in SSM but fail to mention the same concerning PBF over DLH? Many of you also fail to admit that Cotto's win over SSM is more significant than PBF over DLH. Comparing the two opposing fighters (DLH and SSM) SSM has had the more significant career as of late, especially when DLH has not won a significant fight in over 4 years, and SSM is 5-1 in his last 6 fights(including the loss to cotto). One has to admit that SSM is a more credible opponent at this point in his career, if you can't see that, you are blind and biased.
My new universal reply to the BS "oh he was shot" "He was not in the fight that night" is now officially "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!"
Yo ladies, Kennedy was "shot." Mosely got his ass beat, as did everyone who fought Cotto before him.
Here is it:
Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!
Because you post shit like this, and you run your well honed blowjob-tool without anything to say which is actually relevant to boxing, I think you can be the first person who enjoys being "broken" to join my ignore list
Do you seem to think Shane can't fight and has relied on power and speed all of his career??
In his prime Shane is one of the most complete fighters of the past 20 years and is thought of as one of the best lightweights ever. He was fast, powerful, had a good jab, could throw combos, had good footwork, could fight on the inside or the outside, has a good chin and most of all has the heart of a champion. You was 8 years old when he won fighter of the year. You must be underrating him in the long run even if you do think DLH is better at this point.
He never really cared about his D. Hence he was never a complete fighter, but he was an excellent attacking machine with the heart of a champion, who was able to outdo most of his opponents at any range and in any part of the ring. Also, it's not his fault, but his corner's choices did not help him showcase versatility (except with Winky where he fought a different and better plan the second time around)
There are fighters who are way more rounded in the set of what they do effectively, even today: off the top of my head, Toney, Hopkins, Mayweather.
This skillwise, because Hopkins and Mayweather still have to be put in a situation where they have to dig REALLY deep like Shane already had to do. Not saying they would not (pride goes a long way, and they both got plenty), but so far they did not need to.
Just tellin it like it is. Nutthuggery is in full effect. THere is no such thing as a logical debate. Boxing soap opera is all it is. Listen to the BS. And with a name like Mute: Sounds like you got cock in your neck. I'm gonna call you you mumbles from now on. Sack-wetter.
Suggesting gayness or cocksucking with a nickname that says
" breaks men" is the single most pathetic attempt at an insult I have ever seen.
Now go wash your mouth of the shit you talk and of Cotto's cum, I am sure he'd rather fuck some hottie (which he can get plenty, unlike you looking for some strong stud to "break" you) rather than your filthy mouth.
it says even a shot shane embarrassses both....chin and power can still take him far....but miguel cotto, floyd mayweather or even a past prime dlh would give him hell with boxing abilty...

I don't see the comparison between the two.
Mayweather beat De La Hoya 116-112 putting on a boxing clinic.
Cotto faded and the game Mosley who won a couple odd rounds and three of the late rounds did enough to make the fight dead even.

errrrrrr. k this convo is over. now SSM is shot,,,errrrrrrrrrrr :nonono:
he's as shot as roy jones.......the difference is shane is durable as fuck...and thats something only weight problems can take away from you...shane has never had any......
How about we the fans just force this damn Mayweather and Cotto fight instead of arguing about who would win! Sh$t as fans we should continue pushing this damn fight so we can finally see greatness from both guys at work. The only way these two will fight is if the public demands this fight. So let's make the fight happen by writing their two promoters and managers!

what does that Say about Collazo if Shane is DONE.? or even HAtton after what Collazo put him through?
it says even a shot shane embarrassses both....chin and power can still take him far....but miguel cotto, floyd mayweather or even a past prime dlh would give him hell with boxing abilty...
shane landed clean because he was eating punches so cotto would stay in front of him, his timing was UTTER shit....look at my sig, shane is one of my favorites, but the guy is done....
thats not saying he wont be able to beat anybody, his toughness and power still make him dangerous, but every other part of him is shot to pieces...
exactly...
horrible post.
Shane landed clean on Cotto. Oscar faded like you said, so your assesment is that he has MORE in the tank then Shane?:ugh:
Shane came on STRONG at the end of his fight with Cotto. Cotto adjusted and boxed.

If I made gif, I would make one showing Mosley missing a combo. That would speak volumes on what he had left.
BTW Mosley is a warrior, he was never protected through his career and took on all comers.
I dont think he is shot to pieces, he was still busting dominant wins against lesser oppositions, but he certainly lost it.
Shane is done and was old on fight night. Cotto embarrased him. He beat him to the punch the whole night. And Mosley could never land anything clean. Cotto did agreat job. But I think Oscar has more in the tank becuase he only fights once a year. And Floyd could not take over until the later rounds when Oscar fades.
Think about this Shane was in great shape and was too slow to connect cleanly on Cotto. Yet Oscar who weighed in about 160+ against Floyd still had the handspeed to catch Floyd with the jab and land a few good shots upstairs.
AGREED.....
that being said, the MOsley-Cotto fight was close but yeah Shane was survivng on toughness and made it close with flashiness and trying hard as fuck, but hes done, shot to pieces.....

A judge scored Floyd-ODLH 113 - 115 Oscar.
Yeah Kazmarecz or whatever his name, the judge who wrote a pamphlet (I am serious) on how effective aggression is not only more important than defense and generalship, but also on par with punches landed. I think he also left out "effective" in front of aggression, but I am not sure.

Some has-been considering he'd still beat 90% of Welters out there. Cotto's win over Mosley is bigger than PBF over DLH. Although I don't think shane was at his best that night.
Cotto's win over Mosley is more credible to me. It's a huge win.
The fact that Shane wasn't all there means nothing. If Cotto clears the table and takes all the chips at the end that's what it's all about.
Miguel might have beaten Mosley with something else if Shane was coming back with more.. We'll never know. I know Miguel was ready and focused for seemingly anything. That was clear.
Whats up Addison, its been a while. I dint read all of the pages in this thread, but what I understood was that there is a debate about who beat the better opponent. The easier way to answer this question is: if DLH and Mosley fight right now, who would win? I think Mosley has aged better than DLH and if they fought , Mosley would beat DLH again. So in that sense, I believe Cotto's win over Mosley was more impresive than PBF's win against DLH. Does that mean Cotto is a better fighter than Mayweather? Of course not. Does that mean that Cotto would beat PBF? Of course not. I am a huge Cotto fan, and my brother knows it. My brother only watches Trinidad and Cotto fights. He doesnt know much about boxing. But he watched Hatton/PBF with me; and after the fight, he looked at me straight in the eyes and said: " If Cotto ever fights that guy, he is gonna lose"
Look at Oscar in the first Mosley fight and then look at Oscar vs Floyd. If you don't notice a huge difference in speed, then I can't help you.
Oscar still has speed, he looked slow in comparison to Floyd, but he definitly still is fast.

Lol, I guess you are slow if you aren't as fast as you have ever been? Hmm...
Mosley was a fucking glacier against Cotto then.
