Best Battle of 2007?? If I had to call out some definite candidates for this year, I have to call fights like: Mayweather/ Hatton, Taylor/ Pavlik, Marquez/ Diaz, Cotto/ Mosley, Williams/ Margarito, (MMA) Silva/ Franklin 1 & 2(1 always gets honorable mention), Rampage/ Liddell(Wooooo!!), Houston/ Jardean(Wickedest KO since Silva/ Frankin 1), Couture/ Gonzaga(Wooooo), was Cro Cop/ Gonzaga '07, cuz I'll mention that(legbreaker KO), lost my train of thought but, Can ya'll Dig Dat?!?!?:boxing:
Certain fights got mentioned due to the surprises, MONEY KO'd Hatton, mang, KO'd, Mayweather!!! Taylor stinkin' Pavlik, drops Pavlik, turns down the pressure (& still hasn't hit the body yet, yo), then gets crumpled in the corner-ass-Taylor!! SURPRISE!! Cotto backin' the f off Mosley, Cotto had str8 heat on Mosley for like 6-7 rounds then WHAT?!? His hand or somethin?? Still rode the fight out nice though! Weigh-in on some BATTLES right here, mang, cause I know there's fights I'm forgetin'!!:nonono:
hatton/mayweather wasnt a fight of the year in boxing.... we all new the outcome before it happened.
I feel what you're sayin' but were you able to predict that it would be a win by KO, a Mayweather, hasn't ko'd ANYONE in more than a minute, Knock down, then Knocked the "F" Out??? That's how it became Fight of the Year candidate!:boxing:
There was no such fight. There in different weight classes

My bad, you're right, it was Rocky!! All I remember is some Diaz was dismantled by JMM, & Juan was identified on my radar for '07!!!!
I corrected that mistake already, Max Kellerman!! Cono!!:boxing:
The only sick athletes in MMA is Silva, Hughes, Penn, Sherk and GSP. REAL TALK.
Boxing has many many sick sick athletes.
is this a fucking joke?
You don't know much about Mixed Martial Arts. There are dozens of amazing athletes.
Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto
He walks around at 140. He fights at 145-155 and he has knocked out 170 pound fighters. He would also be representing Japan in Olympic wrestling this year (Unlike boxing, all of the top wrestlers in the world compete in the Olympics, it's the top of the top) if he didn't injure his shoulder. He was also a X4 Nevada state wrestling champion, then moved to Japan and became the number 2 140+ wrestler in the country while competing in both Kickboxing and Mixed Martial Arts becoming the number 1, 145 pound MMA fighter on earth. Also got sponsored by Nike, Jordan etc.. etc..
He is just 1 of dozens of other fighters just like him.
You only list UFC fighters, which houses only like 1/3 of the top fighters.
Guida vs Huerta, Guida vs Griffin, Gomi vs Diaz, Pavlic vs Taylor, and Bika vs Codrington were quality fights.
Griffin never fought Guida,
The two fights in boxing that were big internationally were: Mayweather/De La Hoya and Mayweather/Hatton.
Compared to UFC where the biggest fights internationally were: Liddell/Jackson , Jackson/Henderson and are GSP/Hughes and Silva/Liddell

Fedor is a decent athlete...but he isn't crazy in terms of speed, strength etc as the guys I mentioned above. He is just the smartest and most talented MMA fighet ever.....so thats how he kicks everyones ass. I've never seen a fighter as smart as that guy.
Dan Henderson, No. Lindland and KOS...good athletes but not great. Soko...you may have a point.
You think Hughes is a better athlete than Koschek? Koschek was a more accomplished wrestler than Hughes in College and hes picking up MMA very fast. His striking already looks leagues over and above than Hughes.

Well lets be serious...there are a lot more guys in MMA who are sick athletes than you listed...just to name some more off the top of my head to double your list(Fedor Emelianenko, Dan Henderson, Sokoudjou, Matt Lindland, Josh Koscheck)
Yes the amount of high level athletes in Boxing is deeper.
Yeah MMA live can be a VERY annoying experience on a ton of levels. You have dipshit fans booing the second the fight hits the floor because they think it should be "Ultimate Boxing", and top of that the cage is a terrible viewing live, especially watching ground fighting live.
I haven't seen a UFC live in a few years...the last one I saw live was St. Pierre Hughes I so at least the prices then were cheap because it was before TUF ($35)...Boxing and Kickboxing live are more enjoyable.
I agree, when the fights hit the ground, you cant see WTF is going on...If I want to watch the fights on a screen...I'll rather stay home.
Yeah man I sat ringside, and the truth is I really diden't think it was worth the money..Plus the fans were boo'ing most of the fights..I dident have a very good experience. I go to boxing events all the time, and enjoy them alot more.

Well its true the Cage is crap for live viewing compared to the cage. But the higher up you sit the better off you are. If you sit at the top you can look down into the cage as apposed to being low and looking through the fence.

I like MMA, but I really dont enjoy first round Ko's that much..
I went to the Versus card on thursday and there were 2 first round Ko's and 1 second round Ko, I was surprised my girl felt the same way.
Plus Ive been to UFC live and the Cage is Horrible, you cant really see shit plus there are like five guys with cameras filming.
But I'll rather watch MMA, over anything other then boxing.

And in MMA? Whatever MMA bums according to MMA fanboys fought a good fight I guess
You should check more mma out. Its actually a really entertaining combat sport. If you don't like it then fine but don't act like the fighters are untrained bums. Well Leben might be the exception ;)
