I can't believe Hopkins-Pavlik got shut out. I thought about making Hopkins-Winky II the 'joke' choice, but Malignaggi-N'Dou II was too funny. Overall, Hopkins is getting no love here.
He is one of my favs, but I have to agree. I didn't even buy Hopkins-Winky, and those are my TWO FAVORITE FIGHTERS. Of course that had alot to do with my budget and family, but I still was not nearly as pumped for that fight as I was PBF-Hatton or Cotto-Mosley or even Cotto-Judah.
Cotto vs Williams will be a good fight. Clash of the styles. A fucking punching machine(Williams) vs a young, hungry, determined beast(Cotto)
That will be FOTY IMO!
With all due respect, why is Pac/hatton even a fair fight?
Hatton has fought at WW and has been as high as 158 on fight night. He has never fought below 140 as a pro.
Agree with you but for some reason Pac /Hatton intrigues me .Perhaps at a catch weight of 135 . Maybe with Hatton being weight drained and Pac being a southpaw the playing field a bit more level ? I know logic says Paquiao too small but is it possible that he can adjust to the weight of 135 or 140 better than Hatton adjusted to 147?
Taking the DLH-factor out of the equation, what fight would sell the best.
Assume all could get the 24/7 treatment and big marketing push from HBO...
ONLY person Getting 24/7 Treatment is Mayweather....
HBO main investment....
It's sad I couldn't even come up with a heavyweight fight to put up here. Wlad-Peter II doesn't sell better than 300k, I don't think, and that's the best the HW division has to offer right now.
Also, I'm surprised Cal isn't getting more love. I'd love to see him fight Pavlik especially.
Pac-Hatton may be right up there, if only because if Pac beats JMM, that'll mark a remarkable sweep of the elite Mexican fighters of the last decade. Will he inherit a Mexican fanbase?
Even if he doesn't, he will have that fanbase hating him enough to pay to see him hopefully lose.
But I went with PBF-Cotto, because it's the biggest and most competitive fight out there that doesn't involve DLH.
