Floyd would make Coto look pedestrian..:)
Great time for people wanting to see their protected Cotto call him out, after he's already talking about a vacation, Frauds.
protected? it's hard to respect you when you say some stupid shit like that.. he been stepping up since his 10th fight, you clearly don't know what you talking about in terms of Miguel Cotto..
To be honest the only person that I want Cotto to fight is Floyd because honestly I don't want to see Cotto exposed by somebody else. Don't get me wrong I like Cotto he is a warrior but I have been watching him since 04' and he is very flawed. De La Hoya-Cotto is not a slam dunk for Cotto and I believe DLH could beat him if he is still truely focused on boxing. Margarito with his uppercuts and granite chin would give Cotto all he can handle as well as Williams, Cintron, Clottey etc. Make this fight happens because it is what Boxing fans want.
What he said.
If Cottos flaws are going to be exposed, it WILL be by Mayweather. Best technical fighter in the game right now. But I think Cotto could make it interesting for about 5 rounds or so. And then Mayweather just starts picking Cotto apart. Low blows? Mayweather has seen it. Head butts? How would you like your elbow Mr. Cotto, throat or forehead.
This fight could happen at MSG with the Puerto Rican pride day happening. Wouldn't matter. Cotto gets snuffed in the later rounds, or gets UD'ed by Mayweather. It's not a hard fight to analyze if you think about it.

we wont know untill it happens though. i mean, i never thought i would see Cotto try to "outbox" Mosley to a win in the later rounds so maybe he knows something we dont.
You might be right about it.
I also have a feeling that the more he refines his boxing technique, the less of a chance he gives himself to beat Floyd.
Just an example, and no one fucking tell me that I shouldn't compare the two, because I'm not:
Gatti fucked himself over even more for their bout because he stopped brawling and started winning fights with his jab and "boxing skills".
Cotto might be able to outjab Mayweather, but I don't think so...
I think he would do better brawling, but I am not sure.
gatti tried to outbox floyd from the beginning, the idea is to mix it up,to do different things to box and brawl
I think it would a pretty good fight. But Mayweathers rounds after the 5th lately have been much execution style. I like Cotto's type of fighting, aggressive hooks to the body and all. But I don't think it will matter much against Mayweather. Lead rights, deceptive body work in his own rights... It might go 10. Don't get this shit twisted. The fight ends WHEN and HOW Mayweather wants it to end. Mayweather beats Cotto probably rather handily in my estimation.
Thanks bro.
Not to toot my own horn, but I was looking back at recent posts I made on another forum (boxing b.anter . com) and pretty much what I said came true 95% of the time. Like the time I predicted Toney would be slapped around by Rahman and Peter.
Goes to show what I know about the sport.
I been studying it for years.
If only you had picked Mayweather to beat Hatton, I would definately invest my points in your picks. :) My point-broker Azteca.
Cotto is one of my favorite fighters, but I have never seen the quickness needed on his part to engage Floyd. He would need to be able to cut off the ring and give himself space to land shots, but Floyd would just pick him apart inbetween that time. Still a fight I want to see and think should happen. I wouldnt be mad if Cotto fought Oscar though.

Yes he can.
But Cotto is a real fighter and isn't some limited guy who is one dimensional in his approach.
Dude comes to fight and has some serious skills.
He is massive even moving up in weight and Mayweather would feel his power.
Mayweather would beat him over the 12 rounds. Cotto is a little too economical in his approach. It would be a very good fight though. ONe for the purists.
Thanks bro... I didn't have to wait long to get your take on this bout.
I got work tomorow morning. I'm going to bed.
Catch you later Tec.
i think floyd would win an easier fight against cotto than he did against hatton. Although i don't think floyd would win by ko he would easily outbox cotto. Cotto fights at arms reach where as hatton fights at kissing range, cotto may be better than hatton but he will not be trying to lean on floyd all night which will result with him being in floyd's range and just getting countered all night.
Here is a guy who knows what he is talking about. Castillo proved the blueprint to being competitive with Floyd. You have to crowd and be willing to get hit in order to get to Floyd. Hatton followed the blueprint but was just unable to execute being the smaller man. Cotto does not fight like this and I agree the fight would be easier. Floyd will be easily contented with dominating Cotto to a decision win but will go for the knockout if he is able to hurt Cotto. I just see to many flaws in Cotto's style that a master tactician like Floyd will exploit. Now I can understand Floyd saying that he is done with boxing but he can no longer say Cotto is not a big name fight or the public doesn't want to see that. I think it is the biggest fight he would get beside a De La Hoya rematch (which I personally do not ever want to see)
miguel is gonna drag floyd into a war.i promise you all.we will definitely get a trilogy out of this one.
Good luck to him on that... Floyd has never been drug into a war. Ever.
You want to tip your hand on how Cotto is going to do so?
i don't think cotto would come out like a maniac against floyd and i'm pretty sure he can do a lot a damage in that corner especially to the body and size advantage might come into play cotto being the bigger stronger man

Cotto is protected? Based on what? Fighting Shane Mosley and wanting to next fight Floyd?
face it guys mayweather would have a hard time with cotto...
So which are you going with? He can't beat him or would have a hard time with him? Two totally different statements.
