Are Typical Mexican Warriors Dumb or Brave...?

I started a thread on why do people called PBF a runner....., And made points on how: If I threw something at your head, hopefully you would have the wherewithal to move out of the way. ... Or Would you Stand there get hit to prove that you are not scared of the object throne at you, and then throw something Back....? ****************************************************** Naturally the thought came in my head, that most Mexican fighters who identify themselves as warriors do this and get praise as Warriors..... Julio C.Chavez, Margarito, Morralles,etc.... and if you dont take Punishment to give Punishment, you are a Runner...! and their fans agree with that.... So basically in other not to be a runner do you have to take Punishment to give Punishment....? If so: My question would be if you like boxers who stand there and get hit without moving do you care about your fighter ? Theory: ****************************************************** So when they fight a fighter who dont take Punishment to give Punishment... Instead Avoid Punishment to give Punishment This explains the reason why they tend to called them runners.... and I think it coralates down to their fans, because than their fans called them runners... ****************************************************** But is that smart...? Looking at the history of past fighters...., such as Ali, and Hearns, and thousands of other fighters.... My belief would be if you dont want to hand serious health problems in the future.... You should avoid as much Punishment as possible, and give as punishment as possible... Therefore taking Punishment to give Punishment is probably the dumbest thing you could do as a fighter.. Am i wrong to have that belief..? ******************************************************

This warrior style works against Mexicans Just because one Mexican has garnished a Fighter of the Year award. Does not take away the fact that Mexico produces elite fighters. Here an now, you have 3 home grown Mexicans on the Pound for Pound list. Incredibly so, all 3 are technicians with a solid chin and a lot of heart.

This warrior style works against Mexicans Also FYI, only two other boxers with the exception of the Mexican American boxers, have won the fighter of year award below 140 pounds. So it's safe to say that the typical warrior mexican style is successful at the elite level of boxing in lower weight classes.

No other country with the exception of America has had more than one boxer winning the fighter of year award since 1990. Is America the best? Sure, I'd like to think so as well. What's your point?

any fighter who prides himself on taking punishment is stupid, and will end up getting ktfo in the name of their country (margarito).... any fighter who elects to actually hit and not get hit (like a boxer should) will probably be very successful, and still be able to think when hes 40(floyd mayweather) Mayweather is an athlete whose best chance of winning is to potshot and get out of the way. Hey, it works for him so I don't have any problem with that. You implying that if you can't fight like Mayweather you are stupid is a ridicolous statement. Not every fighter can be as effective doing what Mayweather does. Some fighters put themselves in the best chance for victory by looking to get the other fighter to exchange with them. There is nothing stupid about that.

Since 1990 there has been one mexican born and bred fighter to win the figher of the year award title. The exact same as England. Count Mexican-American's and you have 4 fighters since 1990. And this goes to prove......what?

Boxing fans and his own community are two different things, mate. Mosley is very disliked within his own boxing community I'm going to need some examples. Because from what I understand, Shane Mosley is about as respected a fighter as any in ALL circles.

How are these so called fighters strong??? Margarito was outmuscled by both Williams and Mosley. It's hard to over run a fighter when you are slow as hell. It only works against smaller fighters or mentality weak fighters(Cotto Cintron) Decent answer. Williams is bigger than Margarito so he wasn't affected as much as other welterweights. And Shane Mosley used his handspeed plus the fact the he has fought bigger fighters the majority of his career certainly helped as well. Heading into those fights you make suttle changes but that doesn't change the fact Margarito is most effective coming forward and exchanging. You said that's dumb. I say that's his best chance of winning.

Mosley's "hated and disowned" by his own community? I don't know any boxing fan that has a dislike for the way Shane Mosley conducts himself as a fighter and as a person. Let alone "hate or disown".
