Kostya Tszyu, the man Ricky Hatton beat to first become a world champion, has said that Hatton did a good job against Floyd Mayweather Jr in Las Vegas.
Tszyu, the Russian-born Australian, has not boxed since losing his IBF light-welterweight title to Hatton in Manchester in June 2005, although the 38-year-old has not announced his retirement, but he said there was no shame in losing to Mayweather.
"I think there is no doubt that Floyd Mayweather Jr is the best boxer in the world pound for pound," Tszyu said. "He has backed up his words against the best and that is very important.
"While he lost the fight, Ricky Hatton still did a good job. He was pressuring Floyd and even in the middle rounds, he was pushing himself to be better and pushing Floyd to be at his best.
"Floyd surprised me with the way he finished the fight. The knockout was from a perfect punch. It was a perfect left hook and it proved once again in boxing, you can knock anyone out with the correct punch and excellent timing. After the fight Floyd’s face was unmarked and it showed what a talented boxer he is."
Tszyu actually beat Roger Mayweather, Floyd's uncle and trainer, by a unanimous points decision in the first defence of his IBF light-elterweight title in 1995. Since losing to Hatton, he has also appeared in the Australian version of Dancing With The Stars - Mayweather recently appeared in the US version.

hell yea yo mad joints, one I liked a lot also was "No Easy Way Out", I think it was also from Rocky 4, either 3 or 4 but that song was nice, Rocky had all the best Boxing songs including "Eye Of The Tiger".. I'm going to dig threw my tapes and find the Judah fight later tonight and see if they said her name or something so I could download that Tszyu song, I'll holla if I find it.. 100
PM if you got the name
There's only one Ricky Hatton (etc)
I'm a Brit, and thus highly bias in favour of our Ricky. While I don't neccessarily agree with the scoring at the top of this thread, I have to agree that he gave Floyd much more than any of the other mentioned fighters. Only Castillo has had him in as much trouble to my knowledge.
No shame in Hatton's defeat at all. He was in there against the finest boxer of this decade and one of the greatest Welterweights of all time.
that is the most inpirsing boxing lyric " Something worth fighting for." another good song is " Heart on Fire" from Rocky 4 song

WTf! U mean Cortez. STFU with that shi already mayweather was beating hatton in the inside. For all I know Cortez was protecting Hatton. Get your eyes fix. I still think its dumb for me to argue with someone who gave Hatton 5 rounds and had some that could have gone either way. You got issues homie.
The world and his wife knows Cortez blocked Hatton from fighting on the inside in the early rounds. Floyd did fight insid, did ok, and threw many elbows unpunished but Hatton had the edge.
You're the one with the issues, since you can't take the idea of Mayweather under pressure.

is this your scorecard because if it is then it stinks. How can you give Hatton rounds 3 and moreso rounds 7 and 9. He didnt even land anything in those 2 rounds while Floyd was clearly in control and easily picking him apart
Yes but Judah Oscar JLC Chop Chop Corley did better then Hatton. The only thing I give Hatton credit for was making the fight more entertaining thats all. Other then that FACE IT! Hatton was one of Mayweather easiest opponents.
What do you mean by easiest? Do you mean easiest because it didn't go 12?
Because like I've already pointed out, Hatton got through with big ones to Mayweather and if it wasn't for Cortez blocking him from following up, he's in real trouble.
they had a celebrity chick from his country come and sing it though so I thought it was her song that she must have made reference to him in, she was the gal who performed it the night of the Judah fight and I noticed that in the Hatton fight he came out to a recording of it, it's a nice record to listen to when you in workout mode, that whole "soooooooomething worth fighting for, soooooooooooooooooomething worth fighting for" is nice..

LOl just like almsot all PBF opponents?? He always looks shook
Oscar did NOTHING to Mayweather, Judah neither. He looked comfortable throughout.
Hatton nearly knocks him down in the 1st, hurts him in the 2nd and beats him over the ropes in the 6th after Mayweather smashes him in the face with an elbow.
He was shook without question.
it his own theme song.
If you hear closely : " Who you going to call, Kosta Zoo Kosta Zoo."
yes it is a catchy tune with Rocky style of songs

Yep agree. There is no shame in losing to PBf but there is shame in being one of Floyd easiest opponent thats what Hatton was. Although Hatton had the ability to make PBF fight and make the fight more entertaining. I give him that. Btw Hatton only won 2 rounds
Please. He had Mayweather shook.
Hatton held his own for while he could, he should not be ashamed, good to hear some new shit from Kostya Tszyu.. speaking of Tszyu does anyone know the name of the song and artist who he came out to in the Zab Judah fight? that shit was catchy as fuck "fear me, hear me, dare you to come near me.." I can't get the name but if anyone knows holla.. 100

But according to Welter_Skelter, Tszyu doesn't know what he's talking about..
