When I think of courage in a fighter, the first example I think of is Joe Frazier.
Remember when he fought Foreman the first time. Joe was looking UP at Foreman during the ref's instructions and was not giving any signs of fear. And once the bell sounded, ol' Joe just keep coming and going down. And coming and going down. He kept getting up 6 times against George Foreman!! He was ALL HEART and I think that heart showed before the fight in his "stare up" at Foreman.
I think Gerald McClelland showed unbelievable heart and courage to keep fighting as long as he did against Nigel Benn before he collapsed and lapsed into the coma.
Larry Holmes winning the WBC Hvywt fight against Ken Norton with a torn bicep.
What comes to your mind?
Vargas earned my respect after taking a beating from Trinidad in the early rounds to damn near beating Tito if it hadn't been for the low blows. Also, Juan Manuel Marquez getting up from getting blitzed and bloodied to whoop Pac-Man's azz for 11 rounds.
Billy Graham waiting until a half-second after Cortez stops the embarrassing exposure of his fighter before he throws in the towel.
Gutsy.
doris, poke you arse!
most fighters who spring to mind i think yas have already mentioned, but danny williams definately deserves a mention. a mean he won the british title by stopping mark potter even though he had a dislocated shoulder. Hes had the courage to fight everyone who would fight him both internationally and nationally (harrison, francis, sprott, skelton, tyson, meehan, samil sam, klitschko). And the beating he took at the hands of klitschko was nobodies business, he got absolutely knacked but kept going and going. hes one hell of a brave fighter.
Corrales vs Castillo as well as Clottey.
paulie with broken jaw and no punching power to KO.
Ouma alway show courage in the ring standing toe2toe even though you dont have the power to KO you oppenet for 12 rounds.
Danny Williams KOing someone with his left hook because his right hand was broken like dead broken
Danny Williams against Vitaly Klit. HE showed a lot of heart.
Benvenuti fighting Griffith in their second match for the middleweight title the entire fight with a brocken rib. He even went to the distance against Dick Tiger with the left hand broken.
Lacy - Calzaghe. I respect Lacy a lot.
Corrales in his first match against Castillo. Honorable mention Corrales - Clottley.
Gatti in his first match against Ward. Gatti versus Mayweather, he was taking an enormous punishment.
Though it may not be on the level as castillo corralles, or pavlik taylor, lets not forget paulie malignaggi breaking a bone in his face to go the distance with miguel cotto.

terry, i'm not arguing with u but it wasn't the Gman that was on the floor twice in that fight and once knocked through the ropes. benn showed just as much heart, coming back from the beating he took and fucking up the G-man
lacy not quitting against calzaghe, even though he was getting HUMILIATED!! that was heart...
No doubt and fighting for 8 rounds with a torn rotator cuff against Tsypko.......
lacy has alot of heart, and gatti - in any of his fights, he takes a beating everytime, exceptr maybe daamgard, still won't stay down. when i think of heart, i think of gatti
Vitali Klitschko=HEART
His face was falling off but he kept coming at Lewis. He was pissed when the fight was stopped and leading on the cards. Vitali was a true fighter.
Wladimir Klitachko against Sam Peter. After being decked 3 times, he comes back and rocks Peter in the 12th round. Winning a one sided decison.
Shoulda coulda woulda.......
Lacy's corner made a mistake. It was totally unnecessary for Lacy to take all that extra punishment just to say he lasted the distance. The beating he took was horrendous.
