I didn't realize this either...
Merchant: "You wanted to go down as one of the best fighters or the best fighter around, the best fighters have always taken on all the challengers out there, like a Cotto or Vernon Forrest."
Sounds like the, "Floyd, where the fuck was the entertainment tonight?" (obviously paraphrased) question after the Baldomir fight.
Floyds hole record is dominated by flat footed latin fighters with no hand speed or foot speed. How can this guy even be considered great when the closses guy he has fought to him talent wise is a washed up Zab Juda and he was lossing that fight until Zab ran out of gas. He can't even be considered in the same class as guys like Ray Robinson, Ray leonard, Thomas Hearns, Meldrick Taylor, Pernel Whitiker. Chavez, Duran, Benitez, Henry Armstrong, Willie Pep, Sugar Shane Mosely, Arron Pryor, Alexis Aurgreullo, Boom Boom Mancini and the list goes on and on these guys fought everybody out there between 4 or 5 weight classes from Lightwieght to Light heavyweight Maywheather has hand picked his apponents his hole career .......... you cats are brain washed. Do your boxing history he's not even fighting the best out there now......... "OVERATED"
PBF was like 12-17 on jabs and Hatton was 0-10. LOL!
By this logic Juan Diaz would have a lot of losses.
I had Floyd up 2 rounds going into the 10th, but Hatton's ring generalship closed the gap in alot of rounds.
Maybe Lampley doesn't hate him, but he sure as hell doesn't like his style.
Did you hear how he sounded when Floyd landed the hook? He was basically snoring. 'What a left hook.. what a left hook..'
But if Baldomir lands one, it 'ABSOLUTELY RUINS ARTURO GATTI! ABSOLUTELY RUINS HIM!'
Lol...
haha yeah, it was probably more due to boredom than anything. That was a pretty boring fight to be honest with you, just pure hugging and punches landed per round were barely in the double digits per fighter.
Remember when he was slobbering all over PBF's "physique" before the Oscar fight? I think Lampley, Dios, and Sonofisis have something in common.
matter of fact watch the entire fight HBO SHOWED NO REPLAYS OR HIGHLIGHTS OF ANY OF HATTONS PUNCHES....NONE!
YOU KNOW WHY BECAUSE HE DIDNT LAND ANY WORTH SHOWING. Just grazzing shots (like the punch in the 1st rd that had PBF off balance) and shots that PBF slipped. Hatton barely touched Floyd's chin.
Another thing Hatton cut early I think 2nd or 3rd round. And look at their faces after the fight. PBF looked clean and pretty as hell. While Hatton looked like he had just fought Mike Tyson.
Yet people still including the knockdown in the 10th round. Had HATTON winning if you still add up the scorecards. What the hell is up with people????
RE TAR DOE....
ok post a punch from the fight (go download it) and show me a body shot (one good one was in the second round and thats it) or a punch from Hatton that snapped PBF head back or had the crowd go oooohh....
the HBO ppl besides maybe lampley and of course Kellerman-who is I'd say 5 tiers ABOVE Viva Mexico as far as blatant bias goes- HATE floyd. The boxing world hates him basically:
Manny Steward
George Foreman
Bernard Hopkins
Joe Calzaghe
Mike Tyson
Larry Merchant

Larry asks the questions that the fans want to hear. What's wrong with that?
Exactly the man speaks his mind and I hope he sticks around for another good 10 years.
Can you read. I scored it a draw.
Dude you have to me the dumbest blind person on Earth to have those scorecards.
How the hell did you have Hatton WINNING the first 3 rounds? Dude I wish we could watch the fight together and you tell me what the hell you are seeing. U need serious help. You even scored a round for Hatton when he didn't even land a jab. PBF was like 12-17 on jabs and Hatton was 0-10. LOL!
and the 9th round a draw? Floyd was killing Hatton at that point.
Something is seriously wrong with you. Without the deduction at round 7 you would've had Hatton up 5 rounds to 1 LOL! When PBF was outlanding Hatton 4 to 1 in Jabs and power shots!
Hatton didnt land a single significant punch throughout the entire fight. Meanwhile Floyd was snapping Hatton's head back with jabs, straight right hands, etc....
Do your research. B/c I will come back with proof. Im going to post EACH and every round separate in the following posts and you and I will watch it and you tell me why you have Hatton winning that round.
That is a horrible scorecard u have
I like how Larry puts him on the spot....and if he doesn't get an answer....he asks the same question again in a different way......And then when PBF still does not give an answer he asks again....prompting PBF to say " Larry you just asked me the same question 3 times" And Larry to think "well answer the fucking question then you dickhead"......
Merchant: "You wanted to go down as one of the best fighters or the best fighter around, the best fighters have always taken on all the challengers out there, like a Cotto or Vernon Forrest."
Larry in the post Hatton fight interview ask TWICE about Cotto and how the experts expect Floyd to fight Cotto and a win will most definitely clear his way to eternal glory (one of the best ever...) Money Gay dodge the question TWICE. It is very clear that right now, Floyd wants to enjoy the 50 millions made this past year and he doesn't want any part of Miguel Cotto.
Can you read. I scored it a draw.
sorry, i wanted to say a draw, that round was Floyd´s... i also think that the judges gave less points to Hatton than he deserve in the fight, but...all three last rounds im sure that corresponds to Floyd...
he's employed by HBO, questions like that are big money questions and can cause fights to be arranged (e.g. hatton/floyd). its his job, but ur right, merchant does get a sick pleasure in asking floyd particularly, i think he can sense Floyd's insecurity and picks right on it.
if u gave the 9th to Hatton you just lost your credit
