147 is where the best money and competition is at. obviously money isnt an issue because its kind of hard to blow 30+ million playing darts and drinking beer. but a lot of guys, including floyd, fight beyond their natural weight for the bigger payday and increased competition. personally i just think hatton cant hack it. tell me a guy that walks around at 170 pounds cant fight at 147. gimme a break, he just knows he doesnt have the talent to fight slightly above his natural fighting weight. whats your opinion?
not an easy schedule, but the question was "who does he have to beat?"
Is Floyd not fighting any top welters and just "vacationing" after fighting a JW a cop out? personally i just think Floyd cant hack it.
yeah just like he was scared of fighting a 15 pounds bigger oscar, stfu
Actually, I PREDICTED it to the round and type of stoppage.
Rest of your post was inane and irrelevant rambling so I ignored it.
Ah, so you understand at least something BmoreBrawler...Floyd's the better fighter and will always have the better legacy, unless of course, Hatton fights and beats Floyd and beats some top guys at 147 to outdo Floyd.
It doesn't matter who you beat under 147, the best are at 147, not under.
Another thing about Hatton at 147 - there's no future in it. I don't know if someone posted this already, because quite frankly it just popped into my head and I didn't read every post on the thread. Floyd is the best at WW and Hatton has fought him. So imagine if Hatton stayed at 147 and was successful. It would just land him a rematch with Floyd - one Floyd wouldn't accept (with obvious good reasons). If he lost to the best he MIGHT be competitive at 147 (I think he would after his performance) but he certainly wouldn't be dominant. Why fight where there is a smaller chance of winning?
Hatton still lost to Floyd, by KO, who is a former Lightweight, get over it.

good think boxers arent rated all time for what they WOULD do, but for what they DID. I'm talking about what Hatton did.
Yeah, well Floyd is rated higher than Hatton.
The point is this, there is no point for Floyd to fight anybody under 147 because they don't pose a challenge, even Pac, who weighed in at around 142 for his last fight.
Floyd's troubles are at 147.
Nobody under 147 can take Floyd or at least are not going to be favored...nor can they compete with the title holders at 147.
You can go fight Pep, Leonard, Ross, Armstrong, and beat them all...but I'll take Billie Conn to beat them all.
Here is another way of looking at it. Floyd is the best Pound for Pound, but put him up against a title holder at HW, who are you choosing?
Who is going to beat Wlad from 147 pounds on down? If Wlad beats them all, is his legacy better than Floyd's and Hatton's?
Hatton still lost to Floyd, by KO, who is a former Lightweight, get over it. Hatton doesn't have the better legacy.
The best fighters are the bigger fighters at 147, not below.
He wouldn't be ahead of Floyd for two reasons, one, Floyd would beat everybody you just mentioned and two, he was knocked out by Floyd.

I'd say if he unifies or comes close to it at 140 and has wins over Pacquiao, J. Diaz, D. Diaz, Witter, Malinaggi, and Marquez he would blow floyd out of the water. Just Marquez, J.Diaz, and Pacman put him slightly ahead IMO.
Remember, everyone considers Duran to be better than Leonard even though he lost 2 of 3 to him.

If so then Floyd fighting 140 lber Hatton was a cop out.
Just because he gets fat between fights doesn't mean anything. Have you seen his face between fights? There's a couple pounds of fat right there.
Hatton will come back to 147 if Floyd fights Williams or Cotto, how's that?
dude are you serious? You do realize that Floyd has fought in 5 divisions dont yout? You make it sound like he's bigger then Hatton. He came from 2 weight classes under Hatton and has fought in 2 weight classes over where you insist that Hatton must stay
Is Floyd not fighting any top welters and just "vacationing" after fighting a JW a cop out? personally i just think Floyd cant hack it.
It depends. Floyd, at 30, and years of wear and tear through training and fighting, can do what he wants, retire now if he likes. But, if he comes back and says he wants to fight, he has to fight a title holder at 147, Cotto, Williams, Cintron...unless of course he goes after Forrest at 154.
All he really needs is one, although Cintron at the bottom.
I hope the up to two years for a layoff is a ploy to get money because if he is serious about a two year absence, it favors to hurt him physically and mentally as a fighter when he does come back. Inactivity is not a good thing for a fighter.
He needed to fight Hatton or there would still be massive hate his way.
Cotto and the boys need to be quite about Floyd and just fight each other until Floyd makes up his mind.
shutup f aggot, you add nothing to the discussion, and how i am hating? all im saying that if hatton was more physically gifted hed fight at 147. he doesnt have the skills to do it and thats fine, hes till good, but he needs to fight at a weight where he can bully people to compensate for his lack of reach.
How many legit fighters has mayweather fought who have longer reach than him?
fuk all these dissin of mayweather. ppl sayin hatton is a god at 140. get fuked. if mayweather went down to 140 he would ko every1 in it. if he did that n unify the belts, every1 will stay that his fightin smaller guys, even though the haters know flody is a natural jww, or a light weight. fuken haters man
Yes, but if he wants to be in the elite, and I am talking about the Gods of boxing, it's best to fight way above your natural weight. The only downside is that when you lose, people tend to forget what your true size is and only see the "L", which sucks.
I'd say if he unifies or comes close to it at 140 and has wins over Pacquiao, J. Diaz, D. Diaz, Witter, Malinaggi, and Marquez he would blow floyd out of the water. Just Marquez, J.Diaz, and Pacman put him slightly ahead IMO.

more hatton haterssss...n e wayyy

obviously, but that is not realistic for hattons abilities, i think he loses most of those fights.. and if floyd wins another fight against the top challenger before he retires, preferably agaisnt a true welter, nobody is touching him in this era. period.

Ricky is heavy enough, but his physical proportions are just too much of a disadvantage. I mean, not to the point of rendering him incapable of competing, though. Qawi was a LHW...
It's his body-frame, not his height. He just doesn't have a big enough body-frame to compete with the bigger boys.
Tszyu is the same height but his frame is actually bigger, which is also why if they are the same weight, 180, Tszyu doesn't look obese, while Hatton does.
Tszyu out-muscled fighters at 140 for years because he was thicker than everybody, but it caught up with him in the end because he ended up becoming injury prone from inactivity and body draining, which is why he felt "flat" against Hatton.
Hatton doesn't even appear to be that strong, st least not what his Hattonites make him out to be. Kerry was making a big deal that he was leg-pressing 1000+ pounds or whatever he was doing, but look at how he did it, it was a 4 inch push, nothing to be proud about. Go all the way down to the chest and then push back up, then we will see.
Hatton should stick to 140, and leave him be. He is great for the sport and he can still win at 140.
Pac vs. Hatton is still floating in my head. Yeah, Pac is a lightweight but damn, he weighed in around 140+ for his fight...let's get it on.

elaborate on that. say floyd retires without fighting again, who exactly does hatton have to beat to be considered better than floyd despite losing to him in a ko
I'd say if he unifies or comes close to it at 140 and has wins over Pacquiao, J. Diaz, D. Diaz, Witter, Malinaggi, and Marquez he would blow floyd out of the water. Just Marquez, J.Diaz, and Pacman put him slightly ahead IMO.

so you must give a hell of a lot of credit to floyd for fighting above his natural weight. because obviously if he fought at 140 and below he would knockout virtually everyone, or get easy decisions. just wondering
Yeah but he's physically more suited at 147 being 5'8 with long arms. Not counting his boxing ability which ennables him to fight at these weights.
