Ok, I was supporting Hatton cuz he seems a great guy and he's british, but Floyd's my favourtie fighter in terms of style etc so I am in no way biased.
If Hatton fought mayweather at 140lbs in the UK, with a smaller ring and smaller gloves, and a different referee, does he have a chance? I think yes, Floyd had the advatages last time and I don't think Hatton would do it for money,(split would be in Floyd's favour) he wants his pride back and I think he has a great chance with the advantages mayweather had and with a different ref.
Though I would like to see a Cotto fight first.
What do you think?
Hatton should not even think about mayweather now, he needs 3 fights against good quality opposition and get his confidence back
Then they can have a mega fight over here for big big money in say 2-3 years time.
Now Hatton knows what to expect i think it wolud be a lot closer, but Ricky needs to dedicate himself to training and not drinking to have any chance
I hate to say this about ricky... but for him to able to fight in these super fights with world class prime fighters he needs to focus on tactics and technical skill a little more... his team is great for fitness, power and pressure but i personally think they lack in the tatics & technical skill area's

Everyone else has (e-champs and experts) and I expect Ricky will once he's seen the fights.

Ricky complained about elbows and forearms and the point deduction he doesn't mention the breaks....
Look to finish this:
Why hasn't hatton or any of hattons camp came out and said that cortez was infringing their fighter... in the post fight interview hattons worries were the use of the forearm and even at that he simply agreed that it isn't a tickling match!

Hatton was not the hatton i've loved to watch in previous domestic fights now thats down to two things:
1 - Mayweather (Not Cortez) didn't allow hatton fight that way
2 - I've never seen Hatton fight a true (prime) world class fighter
On No.1 in the latter half of the fight you're right. But in theearlier half, Ricky was very much in it and thats with Cortez against him.
I guess you could question the calibre of Hatton's opponent but Tszyu fought hard and I look forward to see how Castillo's next fight goes.
I understand your scepticism though, it could be fully justified.
He split more than that and even when they boxed free he split them or jumped in between them. Wtf was he doing?!?
Otherwise known as holding.
True, Hatton went bull ahead like he always does.
Its pretty much always been uncontrolled any Hatton fights I've seen. He's a brawler, a warrior and i don't think he sees that well so options are limited.
He was fkd by that stage.
As always, especially when he was hurt/tired.
No one said it was all Cortez fault. Mayweather outboxed Hatton but Cortez fcuked Hatton out of a chance of implementing his gameplan. Mayweather was supreme at what he did but Hatton had more to offer in those early rounds which he was prevented from doing.

which at times i'll agree mayweather used to his advantage...

Pre fight build-up Hatton/Graham were talking about creating angles, which i never saw...

He talked about Controlled/intelligent pressure which on fight night turn into Uncontrolled,

Hatton smothered his own shots...

His head stayed upright when he was coming in...
As always, especially when he was hurt/tired.
But obviously all this was cortez's fault

He wasn't allowed to bring in FULL what he actually did have. He didn't have an outside fight but the ref wouldn't let them fight inside early on, he kept splitting them, sometimes at the merest touch.

hatton cant beat floyd in any ring in any country. it aint a bust on hatton cuz i am a fan, but floyd is jus too good for him, in all aspects of the game...
exactly, and no .. no rematch, outcome would be the same anyway. Hatton should just move down to Jr welterweight and continue and finish his career there

I dont see the point..
the only thing different would be.. that Hatton would get KO'd sooner..
Hatton was going all guns blazing in the early rounds. If the ref lets the fight flow I see this one ending early for either one of the fighters. Hatton went in to make it a war not a 12 round fight. Cortez stopped him from implementing his game-plan.
One time in the UK he beat Tszyu roughhouse. Tszyu never complained yet Mayweather did and he wasn't even fighting in that match.

didnt u get banned for makin the threads about this same shit a hundred times. shut the fuck up already mayweather beat hatton not the ref u bitter salty jackass! leave it alone it wouldnt matter what ref was in there HATTON CANNOT BEAT FLOYD MAYWEATHER. end of story. go get some tissues and wipe ur tears and accept reality. fuckin loser makin the same posts over and over about the ref ruinin hattons chances. idiot.
it may of been a different fight, but hatton's poor head movement would of resulted in the same thing no matter which ref was in the ring or where ever the ring was!...

Mayweathers known to let his opponent dominate the early rounds, webbler i think your just using the ref as an excuse too much... i've re-watched the fight several times after reading your comments and imo I feel cortez may of been a little too interfering early on but at the same time if he didn't do that hatton would of been looking to get away with murder like he as done so many times over here in the uk.

End of it... Hatton didn't bring to the table what he was claiming he had...

ur entitled to your opinion. I view it differently. Without Cortez jumping in, in the first 3 or 4 we could've seen a different fight.
I don't expect you to agree, but I'm not the only one to say it, world champions have as well. It doesn't mean we're right but we're entitled to our opinion.

I personally think it'd be the same outcome, it's been said on here a few times since the fight, hatton lacks the technical & tactical skill to beat mayweather.
We can all say the ref had an impact on the fight, but the ref did not keep hitting hatton with the jab everytime hatton jumped in, and it surely wasn't cortez that hit him with the "check hook" in round ten.
he wouldn't have had to jump in if the ref didn't break them every 2 seconds
i dont want to see a rematch just yet
let both sides have 2/3 more winning fights, Hatton especially needs to show his very best and knockout ability against other top performers. Mayweather needs to fight Cotto
i dont see what hatton could have done differently. maybe a british referee would hav allowed hatton more time but i just dont see him doing any better. floyd was masterful, hatton didnt stand a chance, end of.
Floyds defense is masterful and Hatton would have to change his gameplan and step back a bit off of his chest to even have any chance of landing, but I'm sure Mayweather could adapt to that.
All said and done though it could be a closer fight with Mayweather winning a close and sometimes tough fight.

The ref saved hatton because he jumped in just before Floyd was about to land a huge right hand which could have caused serious damage. Hatton needs to be thankfull to Cortez
