As I was watching it, I kept thinking Hattons camp will watch this later, say the Ref stopped Ricky fighting his fight and if he hadnt, things may have been different. (early round when Floyd wobbled)
Then when Floyd made a point of saying I love the Uk fans (x3) and have never fought in England, boxing wont retire me, I will retire it. I thought 39 fights, 39 wins, an 80.000 crowd at Wembley, retiring with an almost certain 40 wins, huge pay day for both fighters, Hatton may well be invited to take Floyd on again..................
i thought i was gonna be more happy about hatton getting KO'ed, but actually i was happy to see floyd fight and win immpressively and hatton won some respect for me, he fought a good fight...
I can't believe this is the wake up call people needed, people who couldn't see that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is one of the greatest fighters of all time before the Hatton fight .. I mean, that's your opinion .. I just can't see how anyone can think like that, then again I'm a huge fan of his. But I'm glad to see he proved you all wrong
I think this was the wake up call because it showed he can punch at welter and floyd was at his most uncomfotable but managed to pull out that win. He did what he promised he went toe-to-toe, unlike the de la hoya. I hope next time he's more respectful but I became a fan last night.

not to mention the racists
i think he gained a lot of fans yesterday
Sadly enough yes, I prefer him being hated by everyone.. It's boring being a fan of a guy the majority likes

I'll admit I was wrong when I picked Hatton to win. Floyd showed me last night he's alot better than I've ever gave him credit for.

Cortez ruined the flow of Hattons momentum early on with his breaking of the fighters all the time.
All credit to Floyd though, early on he looked the most uncomfortable I've ever seen him in any fight but he proved hes proved himself an all time great.
Hatton would be my pick to beat most other fighters at welter and I'd pick him to beat any light welter but I'd like to see Hatton have one more fight in Manchester then retire and enjoy his money and life.
Hes proved himself to be one of the best British fighters, losing to Floyd the way he did has shown how good he is.
I thought it was shit at the end when people booed Floyd, FFS give him a cheer.
Hattons great, Floyds exceptional, two brave fighting men that I respect.
Hatton said it best - "He was getting away with forearms and pushing and such, but I'd have done it to him."
Glad to see someone else noticed this. Regardless, Hatton was just to small, like I said I predicted a tko in the 10th for mayweather which happened and size had almost everything to do with it.
So this win for mayweather is his 3rd best win.
No, actually he didn't. These threads pop up after every Floyd fight and they fill up with a few types of people. Nuthuggers, ones who want to be accepted by nuthuggers, or completely vehement opponent supporters that claim he was robbed - or that he was SO close to winning.
Simple truth is this - Floyd is a fantastic boxer with an absolutely amazing defense. Ricky Hatton is a great throwback fighter that had a solid game plan and was competitive for most of the fight.
Just because Floyd had a faux-humble presser after the fight doesn't make him king cuddly and Hatton getting knocked out doesn't erase the 43 w's on his record. If Hatton comes back strong, awesome - he should. If Floyd turns over a new leaf that communicates a little more respect through the whole process that he CLAIMS to have after the fight is over, good - he should.
Floyd won last night using ALL elements at his disposal - his skill, his quickness, his intelligence, and maybe even a little less-than-legal implements. But - Hatton said it best - "He was getting away with forearms and pushing and such, but I'd have done it to him."
