They sent Ricky into the ring in his 140 pound state and he got blasted out by the bigger stronger man. Floyd was powerful enough to buckle De La Hoya and cast him backward with straight rights.. Floyd hit Ricky with deadly force.
Floyd was too big for Ricky.
And how did Hatton looked like when he was 160 for Colazzo? Sluggish as hell and slow.
He almost got beaten by Colazzo, imagine what Mayweather would do to him.
Hatton hasn't found his fighting weight for 147 lbs, and im afraid what guys like Judah, Cotto or De La Hoya would do to him, that are more stronger then Mayweather and bigger welterweights.
Ricky needs to bulk up, but not bulk up like Vargas did... He needs to bulk like Hopkins did, who is now really solid light heavyweight.
Because, when you have a brawler moving up in weight it's a lot harder for him to impose his game, than it is for boxer like Floyd.
BY ShawnYou are seriously bordering on incomprehensible.
What am I making an excuse for? You do realize that we are debating the effect of weight on a fighters ability to take a punch, right?
.................
BY Shawn. The point is, Hatton had a better chin when he came into the ring at 160lb than he did when he came into the ring at 145lb.
that makes no sense but OK. Hatton shouldn't even be coming in the ring at 160 any way. another post where you make excuses.
Mayweather pros - Fighting genius, defensively impeccable. Smart fighter with exceptional defense on the inside. Wonderful boxing fundamentals, which allows him to utilize his speed in combination punching without opening himself up too much. Wonderful speed.
Mayweather cons - Negative style. Tendency to not force the issue when he has his opponent hurt. Not incredibly mobile for a such a genius. Average power. Low punch output. More or less untested in tough fights. Never really had to gut out a win.
he's never had to dig deep to win a fight, maybe because nobody was good enough to challenge him.
okay so why is there only 5-7 pounds between weight classes if weight don;t matter? why have we seen some fighters completely change after moving up just 1 weightclass? you make a lot of stupid posts man
lmao.............
Excuses for what? I picked Mayweather to win. Another brilliant statement from you.
FROM SHAWN,
Hatton had a better chin coming into the ring weighing 160lb than coming in weighing 145lb. Hence, Hatton could take punches from the harder hitting Collazo at 160lb, but not the lighter hitting Mayweather at 145lb.
sounds like a lame excuse to me. Cotto struggled with weight and took the shots better when he moved up in weight. Hatton moved up and has a weak chin. your point?
What Addison said clearly went WAY over your head. I will try to dumb it down for you.
Hatton had a better chin coming into the ring weighing 160lb than coming in weighing 145lb. Hence, Hatton could take punches from the harder hitting Collazo at 160lb, but not the lighter hitting Mayweather at 145lb.
it does not matter. why don't you just deal with Hatton getting KTFO instead of making lame excuses. Hatton loss to the best of his era.
.........
Greatest thing about mayweather..........
he plays the villan so u can hate him.........
talks alot of shyt..........
but every single time he's been asked to back it up he has.......
amzing............
How would Ricky outweigh Mayweather if he weighed 145 (below the limit by two pounds) at the weigh in.
You're not saying that he sweat PAST the limit, for no reason, are you?
You dont have to believe me just read the interviews by graham. They said he would be well below for weigh in and come in low 150's come fight time. PBF has shown that at WW and jrMW he does not sweat down. Fact's Mayweather-Judah, Mayweather weighted the same 146lbs come fight time. Mayweather only weighed 148lbs come fight time with DLH.
I'm not saying they sweat him down for no reason I'm just saying it was intentional and part of some plan to keep Ricky quick due to his statements of feeling sluggish for the Collazo fight.
Hatton was the one making excuses.
You were the one completely missing the point.
thats what i mean, there should be no excuses. both fighters came in and brought thier A game.
and to you, because Hatton came in at 145, he couldn't expose those vunerabilities? thats sounds like an excuse. :ugh:
Hatton was the one making excuses.

Weight does matter but in this case it doesn't because Hatton probably outweighted PBF fight time anyway. That and the fact that PBF is probably the lightest WW (come fight time) in the sport today. Versus Judah, Mayweather weigh-in at 146lbs and fight night he was 146lbs. Versus, DLH he was 148lbs come fight time.
Ricky weighs more (fight time) in his jrWW fights than PBF does for his fights at jrMW and thats the truth.
Mayweather showed all the vulnerability people picking Hatton expected.
and to you, because Hatton came in at 145, he couldn't expose those vunerabilities? thats sounds like an excuse. :ugh: Floys did a great job. he does what he always do. have trouble at the begining while adjusting to the style, then he figures out the style and executes. at any weight, i see the same result.
Collazo is a lot bigger, stronger, and hits harder than Floyd and he didn't knock Hatton out. there are no excuses for this fight. both fighters came in well prepared.
That is completely missing the point. Hatton came in at 160 for Collazo.
They probably were expecting to outwork him. They probably wanted a light Ricky that could dish out an insane amount of punches.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. We can argue about this until the cows come home.
Mayweather beat Ricky Hatton in a competitive bout. Mayweather showed his stuff bro.
Mayweather showed all the vulnerability people picking Hatton expected.
Collazo is a lot bigger, stronger, and hits harder than Floyd and he didn't knock Hatton out. there are no excuses for this fight. both fighters came in well prepared.
Weight doesn't matter when it comes to chin..

Weight doesn't matter when it comes to chin..
Everything they did the way they did it put Hatton in the right place at the wrong time to get caught.
There are dozens of reasons Hatton got leveled.
He could have been knocked out either way but in the end he was clearly the smaller man. Billy Graham must have been smokin the pipe to think Ricky was going to be stronger. Of course he wasn't smoking and he did think that.
Sort of my point really..
