As the thread title says, he came to the fight with nothing.
He walked into every single punch.
Was completely unprepared for someone of Floyd's caliber.
Thought he would get close and dominate, but Floyd had his number.
Hats off to Floyd. One hell of a fight, near perfect. He beat Hatton on the outside and inside. Talks a big game and certainly backs it up.
i cant beleive how many thought Ricky was gonna win
Seriously same here, like I said before mayweather has been in the ring with that type of fighter so its nothing new to him.
I may have been a bit harsh, but all I'm really saying is that he was claiming he wasn't a 1-dimensional brawler that chargers forward and clenches...
...And then that's all he did.
Floyd was adapting and was starting to catch him as he charged forward, nearly knocking him down - then eventually does, leading to the TKO.
I dont know what fight most of you were watching? Floyd without a doubt proved he is the #1 p4p of this time. Hatton made it a great fight and fell short at the end. In no way can you take away from his performance, he brought it too mayweather almost the entire fight and showed his heart the whole way through. Mayweather is certainly a step above hatton no1 should try and argue that, but it was a great fight, dont try and take anything away from it.
Then what was he doin at 147? experimenting? Why didnt anyone tell him it was too much? sounds like a cop out to me.....
Getting paid as much as his entire career and testing himself against the PFP#1 fighter.
Hatton has fought twice at 147 (Collazo, Mayweather) and looked bad both times. Ricky is just too small to fight at Welter.
That being said, Floyd could easily get to 140 and I don't see Hatton doing much better than he did even at his ideal weight. Floyd is just better and the only way Hatton beats him is with a lucky punch at either weight.
No, he was collecting 20 million dollars. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, are you?
So now hatton knew he was to small and really ha dno chance but he did it anyway for the money. So all that shit about him having a good chance and oh hes gonna kick mayweathers ass was a hoax?
Were u the only person who knew this?
What the fuck are you talking about? Hatton did all work making this fight exciting. PBF just ran backwards and bended sidewards. Props to Ricky!
HATER! he stood toe to toe at some points and executed. hes the one that made the fight exciting. hatton wanted to hold all night.
Once again, pure ignorance. When people talk about size, the relevant factor is reach.
Ricky Hatton was at close to a 10 inch reach disadvantage. Compare that to Floyd's 1 inch disadvantage against Oscar. Not to mention, moving up in weight is much harder for pressure fighters than slick boxers. The pressure fighter has to push increasingly bigger men around the ring, the slick boxer only has to deal with the increased power and reach.
uh reach had nothing to do with the majoirty of mayweathers punches being landed on the inside. Its not like he boxed him from the outside the whole fight. He kicked his ass inside and out.
.................
when u watch the fight again watch denzel washington in the 3rd row.....
nicca was cheering with a mean azz face like he was back in the movie ...
training day............
...................
I told you hatton would freeze.........
but no u lil niccas wanna talk some bullshit.....
lil niccas u dont know shyt.........
6 punches landed per round is a disgrace.......
im glad hatton got pissed on the way he did........
so there is no doubt that mayweather is..........
p4p best in the world............
Pure ignorance. Hatton is a very good pressure fighter. He is just to small to have ever had a chance against Mayweather.
Oscar was 2 inchs taller than floyd and ut weighed him by atleast 20lbs and mayweather beat him fairly easily...
Floyd was 2 inchs taller and weighed 2 pounds more...
So that he was to small shit needs to stop. The size differental had little to do with htis fight. Skills had evrything to do with the result.
I'll educate you.
Every single word that has come out of your mouth sounds like it would come from Mayweathers.
Just admit that you watched 24/7, joined a couple boxing forums, and you know fuck all about the sport.
Then I'll move on and kindly dissect your post and rip you a new one.
Please tell me what hatton did good in tonights fight sir, and while your at it tell me if he can beat cotto, dlh, clottey, margarito or mosley.Hell ill even throw Judah in there.
Id be so thankful if you did so.
I'm suprised to hear this.
Another uneducated opinion from a fighter who watched 24/7 and wanted to get involved with boxing.
Educate yourself about the sport, young man.
You educate me. Tell me one apsect of the fight that Hatton won?He did nothing that he can hang his head on.He did what he always does. Bull rush, put his opponent on the ropes and wale away. But the difference was the opponent. The best fighter hattons ever face befor mayweather was Callazo. Did u watch that fight? Did hatton look impressive to you? That constant pressure shit might work on a washed up Tszyu but we talkn bout the upper class now.I dont think he could beat cotto, margrtio, willaims, mosley,DLH,clottey, shid i cant even think of contender he could beat. The guy just isnt good. Hes a product of popuarity. Watching him lower his head and uses c class fighters as a body bag is entertaining, but you cant do that on a world class level.
Whats crazy is hatton did what he always did tonight. It has nothing to do with him being unprepared,he just isnt good.Who has he beaten? no one.He can push around those losers and over the hil fighters but what happens when he fights a A+ opponent? He looks like a amature. Nothing he did he should feel good about. He landed 6 punches a round and got hit by 160 of 350 punches. Thats horrible, espically when 100 of them were power punches.I dont think hatton could beat mosley form the cotto fight to be honest...
So tell me what was so wrong about what I said.
Hatton walked into a lot of crisp punches as he was charging in, right?
Mayweather nullified Hatton completely on the inside, I can't recall Hatton ever landing any of his trademark 'rib cracking' body shots.
Floyd was beating him at his own game. Hatton felt he would control the fight with his aggressive style, but Floyd was prepared and adapted well.
That's what you call gifted talent.
It cannot be taught.
It must come from within. :boxing:
