How would Cotto do against Floyd?

floyd's gameplan is always to press the action in the first round.he gets his opponent thinking they're down so they can press the action then he picks'em to death,when they realize they don't wan't morehe turns it on again. this might sound crazy,but if cotto starts off the first couple of rounds as the counter puncher,he'll make floyd press the fight,by the mid rounds it's gonna turn into a fight of who won the exchanges,im my opinion that's how cotto can win the fight.then again it's one thing to say it it's another to do it.

He will do better than Hatton in actuality, but will not press the fight non-stop like that. Will last the diatance though, and has a much higher chance of landing more effective shots and possibly winning than Hatton. Close fight to call.

I would love to see cotto win this fight it would be a tough fight do. But I see cotto beating floyd by desicion. Cotto is a smarter fighter than Hatton. Plus he cuts the ring better rather than chase thats what hatton did.

Cotto is better off without a Mayweather fight. Let Mayweather retire (if he does) and let Cotto become the next undefeted king.

Cotto he has a jab that Hatton doesn't, he has more power, he has more size, he took all Mosleys best shots (a better chin than Hatton) On the negatives he is more Orthodox and might not take Floyd out of his comfort zone and hasn't got as good footwork as Ricky and isn't as relentless. I'm finding it hard to pick against Floyd. What this fight did tell me though was that Cotto would definetely brutalize Ricky at 147 and I always had them quite close. His punch resistance is seriously questionable at that weight.

Floyd claims he's the "greatest of all time," he now has a chance to prove it. Cotto is bigger than Hatton with more reach. He presents a different situation all together for Floyd to solve. Cotto is much more than the stereotypical view of Cotto as a body banging, slightly dirty, come forward brawler. He can adapt and box when he needs to. He also has a great jab. The Mosely fight proved this. I would pick Cotto in a toss up.

cotto would lose worst than hatton did, and possibly by tko, the only i reason i say this, is because hatton is a smotherer, cotto isn't, and cotto isn't fast enough for floyd. cotto's style is just perfect for floyd. i feel cotto would try to box with floyd, and that would lead to many right hand leads and left hook leads and they would land very effectively. i have stated this since 2004, that floyd would tear into cotto. he is just too methodical for cotto. now, seeing how floyd won against hatton, i would like to see him defeat cotto. hatton's style would give anyone a headache because of how he clinches, but cotto bangs and against floyd, he would lose by tko, i guarantee you all, floyd would cut his face up bad, and floyd is not as fast as he used to be, i could tell tonight, but he is still the smartest fighter in boxing and the most accurate. floyd by tko on cuts. hahahaha just like cotto confused mosley cotto will do the same to mayweather nuff said i ain't talking about this until the fight is done deal.

Hatton is dumb. He neglected the body. I think Cotto Vs Mayweather would be good. Very close fight. Chess match. Just like Shane Mosley Vs Cotto. Would be great though. I doubt it will happen.he neglected the body because floyd didn't give him many good angles to land an effective bodyshot. and, just like i said, floyd goes to the body very well and breaks you down, which he did in the later rounds. he broke hatton down. and, he really didn't use speed in this fight like we thought. he used tactics and controlled the pace, unlike manny said, floyd controlled the pac of this fight, which is a huge reason why he won. he frustrated hatton and even on the defensive, floyd controlled the pace, which is why compubox numbers had hatton landing the way they did. floyd can win a round whether he's the aggressor or not, which is what he did. imagine if they fought in 2005, floyd would have killed hatton. but, i take my hat off to ricky, he fought a good fight.

Cotto isn't as much of a pressure fighter as Ricky. So I think Mayweather would have more space to operate which would be to his advantage. I would favor Mayweather but not count out Cotto. Good point, Cotto would apply pressure, but yeah, he probably wouldn't close the gap as quickly as Ricky. Cotto's pressure would be in the form of hard body shots though.

Floyd would win on UD no doubt i generally believe Floyd is one of the top 5 P4P fighters ever. I personally believe he is the 2nd best fighter of all time behind Duran. And i reckon if Floyd goes and fights and outclasses which he will Cotto and Mosley he is the greatest of all time.

Cotto would get out boxed, out pointed and KO'd in 6ntless because hatton is much more relentless in his style

Floyd Mayweather on that: "I will not let boxing retire me. I will retire boxing" Besides agreeing with him, i also think he has nothing more to prove and can retire. Cotto would get the same treat as Hatton did with the differences already mentioned. Could even score a KO. Most people see Mayweather at 154 but at 147 he has good powershots. How many of us expected Hatton to be Knocked the fuck out? I didn't. Cotto has a weaker chin. As a fan i'm relaxed because Mayweather is smart. Outsmarted Ricky's management. Ricky said "I expected him to slow down but he didn't (...) He got me."
