Ofcourse we dont know what the final numbers will be but you have to admit that this fight is much bigger then alot of you thought it would be. Everyone is talking about this fight on all the channels. Even on stations that have nothing to do with sports they are talking about it. I think this fight could sell a ton. If that happeneds then the haters cant talk anymore about Floyd because he is having a big hand in these PPV sales.
He fights guys who people say are regular or bums and does the same amount or more then super fights do. Then he fights Gatti and the fight sells out in minutes. No doubt Gatti sells in AC but it never went that fast and he was never on PPV. We all know Oscar is a big star but he sold out with Floyd in minutes and the fight broke records. Now the Hatton fight looks like its going to have a ton of buys also so people need to stop acting like Floyd cant sell fights or that no one knows him. Its not true. He's the biggest name & seller in boxing not named Oscar by far.
People love to watch him. Even if they hate him to death they cant take there eyes off him. They have to watch those 24/7 shows. If this fight is exciting and he wins then he will be a mega star after this and may be damn near on Oscar's level which people thought was unproacable by anyone, let alone a boring punk like Floyd. If that happened then what will people say? You also have to admit that Floyd is the guy who is making boxing popular again when the sport was dead and the UFC was taking over. He's legitmatly saving boxing right now and you have to give him credit for that. There are so many more people paying attention to the sport right now and its in large part due to him even if its that they hate him and want to see him get killed
You wrote more paragraphs, and I don't read anything that long by people who can't write English. (not "then," but "than")
"We" have been discussing this fight for two years. Don't log on and tell us it's bigger than "we" thought.
If Floyd beats Hatton.
He'd have beaten the man in every division from 130lbs - 154lbs.
That would solidify his greatness.
Cotto would only add jizm to the cake.
Over here in Britain it is huge, I’ve never known this kind of hype over a fight before. You can’t move without hearing about it, it’s on the TV every few minutes, I over hear people talking about it on the train and even my mum is looking forward to this one. Who said boxing was dead.
Yeah you do have to give Floyd credit for hyping this up but I’m worried, as good as a boxer he is, he usually isn’t ‘exciting’ for a non boxing fan anyway. I just hope he doesn’t disappoint as a lot of people are expecting something big.
I hope to god they'd never put Miguel Cotto on a 24/7, it'd be the most boring shit ever.
Hopkins-Calzaghe 24/7, now THERE'S a fucking fight seller.
I couldn't agree more. Though it'd be sad to see a lot of people to get disapointed by Bernard's fighting style. Oh well haha.
Pretty big indeed...
It's likely to, nearly, match the numbers done by DLH vs Mayw.
It will also get a boost with closed-circuit showings at various venues throughout Vegas.
The turnout at the weigh-in was supercharged.
No doubt Ricky's personality came through quite well in the 24/7 episodes.
So, if all goes well, we're in for one hell of an event. :boxing:
Actually I was thinking the same thing... especially after the weigh in.. news went on a mayweather hatton frenzy for a good hour or so...
most press boxing has got since mayweather DLH
