I'm sure we'll be hearing more about this in the near future but reports just from the BBC say Calzaghe and Hopkins finally met face to face for the first time in front of 100 journalists in Vegas.

It all started of jovially and fighters seemed to be high spirits then according to Calzaghe on the radio just now, "Hopkins seemed to just switched for no reason, raised his arm and started gesticulating at me saying "i ain't never gonna lose to a white boy"".
Even Lennox Lewis had to pause an interview he giving to watch.
In response Calzaghe sounded supremely confident telling journalists it was "absolutely impossible" for Hopkins to win. "He can't match my activity and will never ever connect enough punches"
I'm sure there'll be more on this soon. I'll try and find a link to a report.
Racist prick.
If Joe said 'I'd never let a black man beat me' I guarantee you Joe's career would be ruined as the storms of headlines and articles of racist would never stand for it.
Double standards in the world.
Ask Alan Minter.
Joe Calzaghe was just finishing up a radio interview when he spotted Bernard Hopkins and, simultaneously, Hopkins spotted him. Hopkins made a beeline straight for him and the two rivals went face-to-face and nose-to-nose. It was difficult to make out everything above the din, but the back-and-forth went something like this:
Bernard Hopkins: Will you take the fight?
Joe Calzaghe: Will YOU take the fight?
BH: I already said I'll take the fight.
JC: OK then, let's fight. When you want to do it?
BH: I'm gonna mess up your face.
JC: Nobody's messed up my face. Look at my face. Twenty-five years of fighting and not a mark.
BH: That's because you're fighting in Europe. You're not fighting a legend.
JC: I am a legend.
BH: In Europe.
JC: There's no way you can beat me.
BH: I will never let a white person beat me.
JC: If you fight me, you'll lose.
BH: I will never lose to a white person.
JC: I can't wait man, I can't wait to kick your ass. -- Kieran Mulvaney
Oh man, thanks for posting more of the dialogue. I can't wait for this one if ever happens

Oh man, he's now gonna look so stupid of he loses. From then on i'm always gonna refer to him as Bernard "I ain't never gonna lose to a white boy" Hopkins. Hell, I might even start from now.
Racist prick.

haha, that's great. Bernard really trying to piss Joe off, he wants that fight!
Hopkins is 43 and even if he was 27 it ain't no shame losing to this "white boy", Joe Calzaghe. About this fight, Hopkins has no chance whatsoever.
I have to say though, it's a shame Calzaghe going after a 43 year old.
bernard will look his age in this fight.. trying to make 168 at 43 years old against someone with a great ouput of punches and plenty of handspeed... he believed his own bullshit after tarver
This just makes me more certain this fights gonna happen, I don't think Hopkins can get away with been seen to avoid Calzaghe in any way after todays out burst.
And I don't even know why he's now decided to bring race into this. All of a sudden he's now gonna be putting even more at stake when he fights Calzaghe. And if he ends up losing he may just have to shut up for long time.

bernard is bad for boxing, hes a boring fighter, hes an idiot, and now apparantly a racist.
