Michael Nunn, that punch form Toney finished him...
Julio Cesar Chavez, the fame, money and his own fighting style caught up to him....and he lacked that one espectacular non controversial win...i think a 1986-1990 chavez is one of the best 15 fighters of all time...
winky wright, imo he is one of the top 5 fighters of the last decade...at least....but he wasted his prime because he couldnt make the best fighters fight him......imo he beat vasquez, simon, vargas, taylor and hopkins(vasquez being the only fight i could see him losing really...but only by a point, 112-111...) and add to that his victories over mosley and trinidad....imo, he should be a fromer 3 time-154, and current 160 and 175 champ...
oscar de la hoya, he was never as focused in boxing after the loss to trinindad, that loss changed his perspective of life IMO...
Erik Morales was a beast coming up but after the multiple wars he had had by the age of 24, and the weight draining he was already a very spent force, although still an elite fighter.....
Shane Mosley lost pretty much all the opportunity to make a really great legacy for fighting De la Hoya...
Roy Jones Jr. never really achieved what a man with his talent should have...
Yeah, this is very true and I feel oscar fell short of his potential, sure he's the biggest draw in the sport, made more money than anyone else, but he fell short of the greatness he promised so early in this career.
He always seemed to make mistakes in his biggest fights and changed his style after the Tito fight which never really served him as well.
Tony Ayala- criminal activity caused him to lose his prime time
Stanley Ketchel-shot in the back at age 24
Trone Everett-killed early
Davey Moore-never lived up to his potential, even though he was a world champ
Mark Breland-really never dominated the pros like he did as a decorated and much balleyhood amateur. Won a world title and is still viewed as "he could have been even greater than that"
Zab Judah, Felix Sturm.
and as random as this sounds...
Ahmed kaddour.. so much talent but cant keep mentally focussed, and the stamina issue due to something wrong with his nose.. But I think had so much potential..
this vid is against crap opposition.. but the skills are very apparent..
this HAS to be tyson... if cuz never died.. and he kept his focus and training like when he was 19 yrs old.... i dont know ANYONE that could beat him... ANYONE prolly the biggest loss of potential in the sport
Maybe he can still do it!
I dont think this is a good example.
i agree, too many have already rolled over on lacy, and i'm not even a fan.
man did he catch a humiliating beating from calz.

LOL. I'll add Ray Robinson, Henry Armstrong, Muhammad Ali, Roberto Duran, Ray Leonard, Archie Moore, etc to that list.
Jesus Christ dude, you named all great fighters who pretty much fully lived up to their potential(other than maybe Nunn).
