Don't turn this into a PBF vs. Hatton pissing contest thread; we have 27320 of those already. This is purely hypothetical.
At 44-0, his career has been very impressive so far. However, it is still lacking that huge win. And let's get serious, few wins in the history of boxing could compare to that of beating Mayweather, one of the greatest PFP ever, and it would be his only loss. I think this win would single handily put him in a discussion of all-time great boxers.
Not from me. Unless more of them start fighting the best fighters in the WORLD and not just those willing to go to Britian.
like mayweather has travelled the world and not just fought in the states you mean....why do all the fighters in the world have to travel to america to prove there great, yet It never occurs to the Americans that there great fighters never travel themselves.......what shit
nope.......not in my eyes
he would then have to challege,
dlh, cotto, pacquiao or diaz @ 140 win or lose,
if he fight these oppoents after floyd, no question
Then you really have a low opinion of Floyd. That makes sense.
It would make him a legend, though we'll always be able to say Floyd was just a good style matchup for him. Cotto, DLH, etc., would be tougher for him.
british fighters will get more respect, I'll tell you that much

If floyds the best, and he beats him...how he does it does'nt matter....he'll no longer be p4p and Ricky will be guarenteed to be one of the all time greats.
Not true. If he wins a dubious decision, then it's really not even an issue. Furthermore, this would be the second great fighter he beat. The all time greats have more than one or two GREAT names on their ledgers. Kostya Tszyu and Mayweather would be a great start. (Not to mention th TRUE title at 140 and 147 at the same time)
Yes, if Ricky beats Floyd then he is that good! plain and simple. No one else has come close and people almost get orgasms when Floyd gets hit once!
So yes. If Ricky can do what nobody else could, then I would say that he is a GOAT.
i say no. it will make a better case for him. his biggest wins are againts Castillo, kastya and if he beats floyd(big if).
i wont say anything about castillo being a shot fighter because the record books will only show what matters and thats the W.
beating floyd will put him closer. maybe top 50 all time greats

It all depends on how well he would beat Floyd. IMO

It will be hard to say that he as an all-time great after one great win. I think he has to do more than beat 1 fighter of PBF's caliber to be considered a great. If Hatton would go on to fight and beat fighters like Cotto and Williams.
