im a massive lewis fan, and i have his entire career on dvd. i respect his accomplishments in the ring and rate him as one of the best heavys of all time. but his opinions on boxing baffle me at times.... i have only heard him commentate a few times on HBO as im from england but half the time he seems confused and stuck for words. His latest advice for hatton is absolutely crap imo. he wants him to be a "madman".... i think educated pressure and aggression is the way forward myself. i dunno it just seems kinda strange that he would say such a thing cus i think most of us on here would disagree with him, and that includes hatton and mayweather fans
Well I think he is right but Hatton should be very very well conditioned.
I posted before how Hatton could win is by clinching left hook to the body and pushing Maywweather to the ropes but it need so much energy to do it
I agree with Lewis and had same opinion before I even heard his. The only way for Hatton to win is by early KO and to get that he needs to hunt down Floyd like a madman, not as in swing wildly like a madman but keep the pressure on him consistently. Here is the Lewis audio interview from the BBC, in some countries it might not work.
On the other hand, it would appear (unless its a decoy) that Hatton doesn't plan to do this at all because this is what Hatton recently said:
there is a difference between being a madman and educated pressure. if ricky bull rushes in then he gets picked off all night. as for his recent quote i think he's telling the truth. he knows floyd looks for his opponents to tire down the stretch, if ricky burns himself out too early then floyd will win an easy decision. i actually think ricky's best chance of a knockout comes in the mid to late rounds not in the first 4
U misunderstood him. He said to go after Floyd on the ropes and just beat him up. Rush in like a madman. Lennox is right, Hatton should do everything and anything but BOX with Floyd.
yeah i agree that he cant box with floyd but if he just "rushes" in then he's getting picked off all night
