Castillo VS margarito, Pointless ??

Forget Paul Williams, he fought boring vs Margarito. Margarito vs Cotto is a much more entertaining prospect. Margarito-Castillo is not pointless. Is it unfair? Yes. But it's not pointless. Sending Margarito back to base one for losing to Williams is unfair and disrespectful of his good long run at 147. There aren't many options for Margarito right now. Williams is busy, Ouma just lost, Collazo who cares...this Castillo fight may just be a stay busy fight but you guys are silly because your presumption is that every fight has to be a 'big fight'. You don't hold every fighter to the same standard. I hope Castillo knocks the shit out of Margarito. Castillo is older now, and not shot but definitely not in his prime either. 3 years ago Castillo has a real shot to win this, even despite the weight difference. Castillo is one of the most routinely underestimated fighters in recent boxing history. Maybe he will make a little history in March and beat Margarito. In the meantime, let's just hope it's a good fight and give it a chance.

dude he just fought TWO prime ranked undfeated )with the excepion of Clotteys DQ) BACK TO BACK.. his TUNE UP lasted less than one ROUND!!! so he is fighting another!!!! live with it.... if margy's next fight was julio diaz, you'd be all over it - wouldn't cha? the time for tune-ups are done, he needs R E A L fights.

I don't know if it's pointless. Because except paul williams, margaritos recent opponents weren't better than castillo. Than i don't think castillo is Shot. He just couldn't handle Hattons hook and hold style. So i think that castillo could prepare margarito against cotto because their style is similar ( even if cotto is much more skilled), and for castillo it's a huge chance, because if he wins he is considered again as one of the top boxers This would be the weirdest match-up of the year imo. It isn't far fetched that a light weight move up to welter weight, but one that's over the hill, just recently got knocked, and is aging rapidly up against a genuine threat at 147, is just bonkers.

Margo just fights bums like Golden Schlong and old past their prime guys like Castillo now. He will never be the undisputed WW champ.

Margarito fights the kind of fight that Castillo needs, he will sit there and bang and NOT on the inside neither, he will brawl and Castillo needs that.. I can LIGHTEN up on my doubt but I still doubt Margarito would win, I just hate to count someone as accomplished as Castillo, to do such a great effort against Floyd was great and him and Chico(R.I.P) had their war, he is relevant in history, he probably wont be a all time great but he WILL be remembered, I can drop a little light on Castillo pulling an upset BUT thats only because I know this will be a WAR and history has shown ANYBODY can win one of those even once, I guess it wishful thinking, it certainly contradicts what I said in the other thread about this fight but sometimes opinions change.. not to say I PICK him cuz I don't but to just rule him out like that would be foul for someone who was doing fairly well against Hatton until that 1 PUNCH landed, even the great Oscar De La Hoya fell to a shot like that..
