This would intresting to see. Calzaghe has great boxing skill but tends to get brave and exchange at some points. that could play right into the hands of Pavlik. Who do you think would win? :boxing: :boxing: :boxing:
calz has established himself as an excellent, well kept secret of a boxer. even though i see a comfortable margin for calz on the cards, i wouldn't count pavlik out, the kid has TRUE grit and skills to boot.
i agree
thanks for not answering my question, Getting KOed in a fight isn`t a good example of how good someones chin is.
A good chin takes punishment over 12 rounds.
oh so do you really think that Calzaghe would take Pavlik's right hand flush for 12 rounds? don't be silly. you are actually being ignorant about Taylor. he showed a great hard chin up to the point he was stopped. it was an accumulation of punches that did it to him. if Calzaghe would have taken as many flush right hands as Taylor did, he would have been out too. give me a fighter that Calzaghe has fought that brings non stop heat and throw recking ball power punches that says knockout on every shot? there is nobody! im not saying that Pavlik would win but Calzaghe has never faced an opponent that keeps coming foward and never takes a step back. i don't usually do this but :owned:
Kessler v Pavlik is the one I wanna see. The big dane won a lot of fans on Nov 3 and I was one of them.
I think Calzaghe would beat Pavlik on points fairly clearly assuming he doesn't get daft and then only if his chin doesn't fold. I give Taylor a decent chance of beating Pavlik in the rematch as well. I certainly don't think it's a done deal.

Taylor has a very good chin and it is no fact that Calzaghe's chin is better. it took 7 rounds of clean right hands from Pavlik to finally get Jermain out. i doubt anyone else could take right hands from Pavlik for that long. i have seen Calzaghe hurt from punchers less than Pavlik. :boxing: :boxing: :boxing:

Taylor has a good chin?? When was the last time he fought a known puncher?

Pavilik would have a chance if Calzaghe had no chin, but Calzaghe has a very good chin, Kessler punches as hard if not harder than Pavlik in my opinion and Calzaghe took 5 or 6 bombs straight on the chin and took them.
Pavlik would lose this one. As soon as Pavlik can`t knock a guy out, he's done.
who has pavlik fought who is considered to have a good chin and be a good technical boxer
Jermain Taylor! :boxing: :boxing: :boxing:

was he confused at dawsons constant pawing at his gloves....
at this point im just wondering if you watch boxing? if you did, you would know that some boxer's paw to set up thier shots. :duh:
first of all, know the fighters before you post! you didn't even know who Dawson was so how would you know what we are talking about? the fighter that Dawson was beating was an undefeated WBC light heavyweight champ. he was just confused about the blinding handspeed of Dawson. :boxing: :boxing: :boxing:

I like pavlik but calzaghes in a whole different league, the boys too quick and he wont stop throwing punchs till Pavliks on his ass or the end off round 12, theirs no middleweight, supermiddleweight, light heavyweight on the planet at the moment who would beat Calzaghe , and to comment on the guy who said dawson has a chance off beating calzaghe tht boy would get schoold all nite another lacy beating
that video in ur sig aint proof of anything.
the white guy just stands there while the black guy places his shots.
honestly, no top fighter is just gonna let him get away with that,
definately not sold, presumably the black guy is dawson ?
if so, calzaghe is a bad fight for him right now.

this post is so biased thats its actually funny. Pavlik hits alot harder than Calzaghe does so i know he will hurt Kessler if he lands too many of those right hands. and i don't know why you are acting like Calzaghe is unbeatable. Dawson will be the man who will dethrone Calzaghe in the future. he will out box him and beat him to the punch. and please, he had Lacy hurt throughout the whole fight but did he stop him?

after pavlik has a few more fights, i say 3 or so more, then i think he would be ready to take on calzaghe. right now the major advantage that calzaghe has is the big show experience, which i think pavlik needs a little more of so he would know how to handle certain situations. plus calzaghe has faster hands and good footwork, he shows angles, but i think with a little more experience pavlik would be right on target for calzaghe.
i think pavlik, with the way his career has been going, if he continues his formula for winning, he will beat calzaghe, but as of right now, this very moment in his career, i think a fight with calzaghe is way too soon, patients is the key.
Get off Joe's dick, guys. He's bordering on great, yeah. But don't make him look invincible- unless you wanna end up with some hurt feelings soon.

Would anyone give Pavlik a chance against Calzaghe? | BoxingScene Community
