lol man .. lol i have only seen the collazo fight once but ... damn when they showed hatton getting hit by Collazo .... OUCH ... man he got raped uppercut, right hand ., left hand ... lol the thumps were so damn loud ...lol ...
and i also think collazo should have been awarded a knockdown against hatton ...hatton was hurt and went down ... ref let it slide ...
hatton will go down in the floyd fight ... collazo doesnt hit that hard...
To be honest, I don't get the statements that Oscar was "faded" Yes they weren't his best years and he wasn't in his prime.
Though hell, he looked really good against Mayorga and still good until he gassed out against Floyd. He's still pretty good.
The version of Tszyu Hatton beat was still a very good version. Hattons style was always going to give him problems look at the Forrest fight. The doubt going in for Hatton was Tszyu power and could Hatton handle it which he could, as the fight went Hatton took loads of flush shots and just kept coming. Tszyu was 36 but u cant take anything away from Hatton on that 1. Its splitting hairs to the nth degree especially with Tszyus record coming in. Tszyus was highley competative that night it was rickys style that did for him nothing else
Actually I did think KT was faded , he looked ordinary here sparing Soliman before he left , inside rumours around Lewis gym was he wasnt going well , I was at his Leija fight and lightweight Jessie more than held his own untill a ruptured ear drum , the Mitchel blowout was more a case of Sharmba shitting himself and just shutting down ,,, did I pick Hatton to win no , Hatton was basicly unheard of ,,, was KT faded fucken outh he was , he was 36 yrs old for fuck sake , injuries and shoulder operations and he was talking retirement a year earlier ,,, it was a great win by Hatton but keep it in perspective mate .
It was a great win so keep it in perspective. That's important. Hatton beat a highly rated fighter against the odds and did so in dominant fashion. That's perspective.
oh, so he had the Flu. thanks for verifying.
i had that fight a draw. i wonder who were the other welterweight champs during the time ricky fought collazo? (collazo being the WBA at the time)

ricky said he wotn do the same as he did with colazo. i mean collazo had a fairly clsoe fight with mosley who had a clsoe fight with cotto. collazzo aint crap but he aint a class either. he just gave hatton trouble who didnt really have that much notuice because he was suppsoe to fight someone else. his biggest problem is collazo is a big guy and he tried to match it but it made him not fight as good. i htink the lighrter rickty is the stronger he remains for 12.
KT was faded and was 36 again the truth
I've asked this before and haven't recieved an answer, but were you the only person to predict that Hatton would stop Tszyu? Because noone else thought that the fight would end like that, noone else thought Tszyu was faded, in fact the Ring magazine had Tszyu at number three on their pound for pound list. Fancy.
Ah ,,, you asked about them before I said anything ,,,, I didnt disrespect them , they were way passed it journeymen thats the truth ,,, KT was faded and was 36 again the truth ,,, Massua is my opinion the worst WC Ive ever seen , mate its not about blowing sunshine , I dont know why you even brought those dudes up the way you did ,you mentioned them like it was a really big deal , KT was but the others you mentioned were nothing really .
I feel it would've showcased Hatton's tenacity more than the fights they opted to show did, that's all. Therefore hyping the fight even more, possibly leading to record breaking PPV sales.
Tszyu, no matter the age or condition is a massive win. Same as De La Hoya goes for Floyd.
Castillo and Chico were prime , Gatti was shot , Judah was the best best prepared he has ever been , Oscar a hof who just stiffened Mayorga was faded but had 14 lb advantage .
You asked what about Phillips and co and I tell you straight and you dont like it , what did you ask about them for ?
Because you disrespected those fighters and what they've accomplished when you decided to type what you did.
judah was the IBF at the time.
judah was the WBC at the time.
margarito was the WBO at the time.
how do you think hatton would have done against judah and marg at the time? if he chose one of them instead of collazo?
Judah was only recognized because Baldomir refused to pay the sanctioning fees. Everybody knows Baldomir was the Champion.
And I for one would love to see Margarito/Hatton but I doubt it ever gets made due to the big size difference.

I won't make excuses. Hatton lost the Collazo fight IMO. But it is a well known fact that he was fighting with the Flu when he fought Collazo.

Two were washed up journeymen , one was a faded champ at 36 and the other one was the worst WC Ive ever seen that just got iced by a young gun in a round .
If that's your opinion then you must think Mayweather's "Greatest Hits" came against two "B class" Mexicans with more guts than talent, a washed up Artruo Gatti, a washed up Zab Judah, some guy who sells feather dusters for a living, and a past his prime transvestite DLH.
I don't think Tszyu wasn't washed up against Hatton. Sure he had injuries before that, but he was still regraded as good.
Hatton just looked great on that night.
ricky's fight with collazo, i think ricky had a few disadvantages.
collazo is a natural light-middleweight, ricky is a natural light-welterweight.
collazo is a southpaw, ricky has trouble with southpaws.
im not sure, but i heard ricky was sick coming into that fight.
and i think ricky recieved short notice to fight collazo, not sure on that one either.
ricky and team hatton tried to bulk up as much as possible for that welterweight fight, and now they say that was a bad idea. last time i heard, team hatton is trying to have ricky come in a little over the light-welterweight limit, probably around 142-144, so he can keep his speed, and be closer to his natural weight class; against floyd mayweather jr.

I thought that was bullshit. They focused on Collazo a bit too much (who does hit pretty hard), and completely neglected Tszyu. It was as if Hatton only fought Collazo, Urango and Castillo. What about Tszyu? Oliveria? Phillips, and even Maussa?
nice clip, there was a lot of clinching for dear life.
but that was only a little part of a 12 round fight.
hatton admitted that the collazo fight was one of the toughest and that collazo hit really hard.
