Damn, another one of these threads. Is it really a shock though? Mayweather talked trash about Gatti, Corrales, DLH. What did you expect him to do? Change just because he is fighting your beloved Hatton? Heap on multitudes of praises towards Hatton, and his everyman demeanor? Get real. If it was a perfect world, then yeah, Mayweather would be respectful towards his opponents. And wouldn't flash a bill roll and jewlery. But its his money, and if wants to to that, who is anybody to argue about it? I'm not trying to defend Mayweathers antics. I'm a pretty low key guy myself. But if I were recognized as the pound for pound champ, undefeated, and had 10's of millions in the bank, who knows how I would act. Or anybody else on this bored for that matter. Just saying...you know what I'm saying?

Floyd and Jordan and Tiger bear a few similarities. All greats do. One of those is finding "fake motivation" . Whenever someone says anything the slightest bit critical (or perceived) about Tiger, he uses it as motivation to sledgehammer them on the course. You can see a glimpse of that in Floyd from the last 24/7. When he was watching Oscar on the previous episode, and Oscar criticized him, what did he say ? "Get my running shit". I guess when you are SO good like those guys, you need to find stuff to motivate you. Otherwise, you end up like Shaq. 350 pounds with a chocolate fountain in your house. Extreme talent is very sensitive: Bird, Roy Jones (Y'all musta forgot!), etc. Do you remember what Ali did to Floyd Patterson? Good points. Can't argue with that. Ive been following the forum for a while and the PR for the Floyd / Hatton Fight. And Ive had to sign up because Im so pissed off about the gutter attitude and disrespectful piece of shit that is floyd mayweather. Boxing is a beautiful sport, always has been, but this fking Floyd Mayweathers attitude makes me want to smash his fking face in. He's such a prick. How can anybody support him ? Do you like how he talks such shit to fellow professionals ? Grrrrr, thats my rant. However, I want to ask if you think the floyd Mayweather product is good for the future of boxing ? It just seems to me that Ricky's BEST tactic would have been to NOT do the video, NEVER complain aboutthe disrespect and just take the high road. And then come in and SHOCK the world. That is what Baldomir did. I would have lulled Floyd to sleep. Why grab a tiger by the tail? ...AGREED...

Mayweather is good for boxing, he is contraversial, talented and i find his antics very funny. Plus he makes the big fights happen, at the end of the day, the two biggest fights in years both include him and he made them happen, 1) By giving de la hoya every advantage possible and still winning 2) Calling Hatton out in public and giving him nowhere to go. Mayweather only has a few fights left in him anyways, so he isnt the future of boxing, but like him or not, he is very entertaininng. About his personality, if you see what you only want to see, your suspicions will be confirmed, But let me make this more clear. Last year/this year, Who toured 30 schools talking to children about building a better future. Mayweather or Hatton? Who always keeps in shape because he respects his dicipline and doesnt go out on all night drink and curry binges which leave him overweight and nowhere near fight shape? Mayweather or Hatton? Who has built more gyms and community centres for the public Mayweather or Hatton? Who bought thousands of meals for impoverished families in their hometown, Mayweather or Hatton? Dont get too caught up in the hype. Yo Al Capone did all the charity shit Mayweather is doing and more. But an asshole is an asshole and the whole Mayweather clan are undistputed assholes:ugh:

You can take a pretty good guessl who Floyd likes/respects vs who he doesn't by how he acts. Even though he and Zab had some animosity, there was a certain level of respect. Floyd definitely respected Baldomir. Floyd detested Gatti. And he was jealous of many of the things that Oscar had, and he hated Oscar for trying to preach to him. He thinks Oscar is fake from Oscar's whole "Keep smiling" speech. Floyd doesn't respect Ricky's "fight game" and doesn't like him as a person much. Ricky's comment post-Castillo didn't endear him to FMJ. In a confused tone: "What has he done?" The Gatti pummeling and the dismantling of Corrales was evident of Floyd's disdain for their 'personal' comments. No doubt. Ricky's comment after the Castillo fight stoked the fires. A career of running his mouth about Hatton?? Hey, Hatton showed up at THE FIRST press conference with a produced tape with a hired (even if unpaid) gay-ish actor to mimic Floyd. At that point, Ricky did not know what tact Floyd has chosen. It could have been the Judah/Baldomir Floyd, or it could have been the Delahoya/Gatti Floyd. Ricky was making videotapes BEFORE this promo tour even started. TRUE OR FALSE? Also, Ricky has consistently made comments like 'I'm getting two sparring partners: Forrest Gump and Carl Lewis". The rancor has gone both ways. Hatton instigated much of it, and then expressed shock when it got hot. Hatton continuously claims "disrespect". Well, making a video with a gay actor is respectful? I'm not saying making a career of running his mouth about Hatton...just running his mouth....to say that He did'nt know what tact Floyd was gonna take is wrong,he's had so many smartass remarks made by Floyd before and after Castillo it would'nt need a fucking genius to work out what type of comments he would be shoveling out......And as for the video.....it goes to show that he might be a fat,overrated,wrestling no-mark.......but hes a smart and confident one
