today when i saw Jesse Filiciano fight, i was mesmerized. He would come up
throw combinations and take in several blows. He really does remind me of a
Gatti.
What i'm getting at is, when he fought Kermit Cintron, the spokesmen said
he lost his baby boy, and he dedicated that fight for his son, and although he never won, many people cheered for him, and it was obviously a mismatch and he gave all he could.
Same goes for the udnercard in the very beginning, the russian (forgot his name) dedicated that fight for his boxing amateur coach who past away, and beat up that mexican guy...:ugh:
I don't know many, but that fight against Mike Tyson and James Buster Douglas was also a factor. The spokesman had also said that Busters mom had past away in the 2 weeks for the preparation for that fight. He gave all he got, and knocked out Mike Tyson.
What my point is when something tragic happened to these boxers, they dont care what happens in the ring, there mind is focused on the people they care for, and give all they got. I'm just very surprised about the willpower of these fighters, and what they can do to change the views of boxing history.
Just something i'd like to share. :boxing:
Yup. Just like when Corrales had beaten his pregnant wife and Floyd dedicated the Corrales fight to all battered women throughout the world. He was focused and his willpower wouldn't let him lose that night and be ridiculed.
.....:nonono: Homo..
the human mind is the most powerful weapon in a boxers arsenal.
when you dedicate a fight to something so special, like family member death, etc. your mind will not allow your body to stop, and vice versa.
not too sound cliche'd here, but...
"his body cries stop, but his spirit cries NEVER"
-rocky soundtrack
I thought this was an interesting topic so thats why i shared it.
I'm not sure if u are trying to be funny or sarcastic, so i'm just going to see what others have to say.
Im amazed at the human body as well sometimes. I remember the Kessler/Andrade fight and Andrade took a beating eating punch after punch, and after the fight he didn't have a scratch on him, how does that happen.
