So would it have been the same decision if this was fought in Las Vegas, instead of N.Y., I have a feeling the judges may have scored it differently, thoughts?
Umm not so sure yet not thought about it yet to be honest!
But its fuckin Ridiculous that we are even talking like this - VARGAS should be able 2 KILL Mayorga!!! That guy was the shit, his potential was off the charts! Wins over Campus, Bazooka and Winky Wright THAT Early in his career!!! Too bad the Tito fight Destroyed him. :nonono:
Agreed! Tito ruined him. :skull:
He's never been the same since. When Mosley knocked him out last year that should have been it. I have no idea why Vargas is doing this.. :pat:
I'm not at all sure because Mayorga is also the liablity..
But it's Carlos for me I guess.
HaHA.. That's a tough call.
I'm really not very sure at the moment.
Both these guys are in highly questionable condition, especially Vargas.
How do you see it, #1?

Ive done that a few times too! 1 guy is quietly racking up the rounds without getting the general feeling he's winning! Wierd!
Im glad ur open to the idea of changing ur view on rounds, sum guys would be too Pig headed for that! Even if u dont change ur mind its a good quality :beerchug:
NEXT UP HATTON vs MAYWEATHER!!!!! :boxing: A fight we agree on!
Vargas vs Mayorga, who u got?
HaHA.. That's a tough call.

When I added up the scores I was a very surprised I had it a draw because in my mind Miguel clearly won the first time I saw it.
Cotto showed better on first impression.
Good shit, #1. :beerchug:

What would they think next? I feel this is just the start. They cooking something very big for next year. Cotto's version of the fish net perhaps, possible.
cotto gets bikini waxes.
definitely.
those damn puerto ricans plans for world domination would have been destroyed by the infallible nevada state athletic commision.
those damned puerto ricans need to be stopped.

I actually gave Sugar the 2nd THIS TIME, (i gav it 2 Miguel 1st time) That round could have went either way bu i was trying to be kind to shane. I gave the 11th to Cotto tho, he was Slick and his counters were snappy, shane was the aggressor but hit gloves alot.
I Gave Shane 2 3 7 10 & 12. Good fight like, both fought well
Good to hear ur take :fing02:
Nice, man. You've got a good eye! Same as me.. HaHA.
I might decide Cotto got the 11th when I watch this again.
It's weird, I'll give Antonio a little more credit on the 9th now because you also agree that was a Cotto round. Most Cotto people gave that to Shane if I can recall. We need to bump that scoring thread, alot of people put their full scorecards in there.. Anyways, I'll watch the 9th again carefully. I had it for Mosley no asterisk. The 2nd was tight, Cotto edged it for me but I can't remember why. I was trying to give it a worse case scenario in favor of the other guy as I'm sure you were.

I had it like this:
Cotto:
1,2,4,5,6,8
Mosley:
3,7,9,10, 11, 12
114-114 DRAW
The toughest rounds to score were the 2nd, 8th, and 11th.
I gave two of those close rounds to Cotto and one to Shane.
I felt Shane should get the 11th because he landed more and pressed the action. Cotto had some eye-catching counter punches if I can recall correctly (I need to watch it again once a DVD shows up). Mosley was in the drivers seat for 2-2:30 of that round based on what KM20 mentioned.
But I didn't take specific notes. I will when I can watch it again. The crowd was getting way happy every time Cotto did anything, and they really hyped individual jabs and single shots. When it's close, momentum is the equalizer.
Cotto still had the momentum in the 2nd and 8th rounds even though I understand alot of people gave those rounds to Mosley.

I was really impressed by cotto's ability to box and how smooth his right hand looked. His right hand supprised me. He has proven to me that he is a better all round fighter than tito trinidad. Cotto is a great fighter. In terms of overall skill he reminded me a little of Roberto Duran. He is great for boxing.
Also , in watching the fight again shane didn't look as bad as I thought he did. Although he's not as explosive as he once was he wasn't completely shot.
On another note. I know that often times a fighter's ability to take a punch increases after moving up in weight, but cotto's chin level has climbed incredibly. I don't think I have ever seen a fighter get as hurt as cotto had in previous fights, only to take the puches he took on saturday night. This leads me to believe one of 2 things.
1. And what I think is most likely the case, after 4 fights at 147 cotto has officially settled down at 147.
2. Or, correct me if I am wrong, but was it me or did the weigh in occur a little earlier than usual. Miguel could have benefitted greatly by an added 3 to 4 hours to recuperate for the fight. Being that Miguel is naturally bigger than the average welterweight, such a scenerio stands to benefit him more. If you look at both shane and miguel at the weigh-in and then saw them during the fight, cotto appeared to have filled out alot more than shane did. Not only could the added weigh have affected his chin, it also could have affected his overall strength.
For the record I don't actually believe this, but I just wanted to put that out there
Right Addy just scored it 115 - 113 Cotto, close but clear!
AND that was giving Shane the 7th round which could hav went to Miguel.
The ref made a bad call on the slip, that as Sugars best punch right b4 that, HOWEVER IMO Cotto wasnt hurt or in trouble.
Anyway thats a round tighter than my initial score but its still a Cotto win with no doubts for me! :beerchug:
How'd u hav it mate?

It was a massive win. And an excellent performance by Cotto.
Nice, I'll be looking forward to seeing what you thought round by round.

Man ya still on this shit? Get over it. The fight wasn't even a draw.
People who though Cotto was hurt are liening to themselves. He was gassed out from all the clinching and all the punching.
When they halted the bout to clean up the water it was for no more than 3 secs. Mosley could have capitalized on it. He didn't. Therefore he didn't even know Cotto was hurt.
People saying that COtto was hurt are deluded. Cause he was on the ropes? after the right hand? Please.. Ya always need an excuse!
Wait, who needs excuses? ^ :lol1:
I didnt notice anything bias about the PR ref. Did u?
well only the time when he decided to stop action when shane was unleashing a flurry on cotto in the corner.. the ref randomly noticed some water in the corner and decided to stop shane part way into beatin on miguel.

Oh my God! You people can do better than this... there are like 20 threads with the Cotto-Mosley issue. IF, and only if... Cotto KOS the fuck out of MayWeather... All those bias posts will be gone or what would be the excuse then??? Just accept reality and move on. Cotto beated Mosley and MayWeather should fight the best available out there to show why he is the best pound for pound in boxing. If Floyd doesn't fight CoTTo next, he is just the same old chicken that ran away from Margarito before. If he decides to fight Cotto. I hope there is people out there to put real money on the line and not just talk the talk.
I go to bed everyday, and pray God and only ask for Mayweather to kill Hatton and then to call up Migel Cotto from the center of the ring. "God, all I ask is for the fight to happen while they are undefeated. Don't let Cintron nor Williams to mess this one."
My bad I realized after the Floyd post I was thinking oof someone else, but from watching the fight Cotto didn't look hurt I wasn't interpreting and it was acknowledged on the telecast. I admit I was wrong wit the Floyd post but after I realized it was too late so that was my bad. I just don't feel that the refs momentary stoppage had a major effect on the fight it was as if Cotto was in trouble and Mosley was o the verge of a stoppage or a knockdown. I just feel it wouldn't have mattered where the fight took place, Cotto would still have won.
It sure looked that way. But not so much towards the end of course.
If you were paying attention you would know I have praised Cotto's performance and credited him the win.
You're talking about me interpreting events??? You just tried to tell all of us how hurt Cotto was, and how the ref saving him had no effect on the outcome. That is the pot calling the kettle black.
There is no "interpretation" on my part if Mosley says he doesn't agree.
There are only two possibility's. :pat:
HaHA.. I'm a Floyd nuthugger?? What?!?!?!?!?!
Dude, you need to do some homework before you start making allegations.
FUCK FLOYD.

i read that delahoya said shane told him that he knows he lost the fight but he might want another crack at tryin to beat cotto
What Mosley said was that he wasn't sure about the outcome and that he needed to review the tapes. He also said he wants a rematch, yes.
