the easy of which Joe the slapper and his arsehole of a manager/promoter Wank Warren have hand picked there way to the top.
Joe fought for a vacant British Title against a no hoper(Stephen Wilson), Warren given Joe a easy title, Joe just having to turn up to win.
Then he was given another shot a vacant title this time the Warren controled WBO, this time against a twice beaten over the Hill Chris Eubank,
so it was'nt until the Welsh wanker fought Jeff Lacy did he win a legit title fare and square,
this is not the record of somebody who people think is the best British Boxer of all time, the lenth of time you hold onto a title is'nt an indicator of how good/bad a fighter is.
Joe is good but NOT truly Great.

What Difference does it make he beat Lacy & Eubank & would have beaten Eubank in his prime regardless wether he was finished or not, infact he would have beaten him even more convincingly circa 2006
joe is good, but i think that the only fight that he has had that he wasn't a 100% sure to win was his fight with kessler, lacy was supposed to be a tough match up but he wasn't ready, he was hype, at least kessler was actually ready.
but the point i'm making which was stated slightly in the start of this thread is that calzaghe has had perfect match making, the kind of match making that looks extraordinary on paper, but under a microscope you see a different picture.
now i will say that i do like calzaghe even though he has been in against guys that he could and was supposed to beat, easily, but the fact of the matter is this, calzaghe whether or not you like him, he did win those fights, he didn't have a laps in concentration that cost him the fight, and although he did have some help with refs and judges here and there, every promoter's star fighters gets those lovely perks. but the fact remains calzaghe is undefeated and has 21 title defenses. but until he really proves it with his last few fights fighting legit threats it is all under mass scrutiny............and that is a fact that will stand forever..........
what sort of record do you need to get you into the Hall of fame, or the title of worlds best, or do you need a good promotor to get your name in the trade mags and on the media, will Joe get sports personality of the year.
